Add me to the delayed list. My May date has been pushed to June. Could be worse, I suppose.
Thankfully, A2Z came through for me and I have an adapter I can use now for planned trips.
The early models used a weak spring and some members figured out that you can put nickels under the springs to increase tension.
My 2023 was built in October and the lid stays open so they must have switched to beefier springs in the newer builds.
Yeah, nice try. You claim without evidence that Ford will be including adapters with purchase AFTER June 30, 2024 and then come here in April claiming that someone getting an adapter mailed to them proves your point?
Activating connected services and requesting the adapter is the same process...
You mean the adapter that didnāt come with the truck? The one they had to order online and have shipped just like the rest of us? That one? Itās not past their June cutoff so everyone can still get the free adapter. This proves nothing.
I see you ignored the bolded part of the statement where it says FUTURE customers. Your argument hinges on semantics.
The adapters being an added cost in the future is consistent with everything everyone has said on YouTube and forums. Itās part of the reason we have to request one rather than...
No, I donāt make shit up. I read Fordās press releases and take them at their word.
Hereās the relevant paragraph, since I know reading can be hard. š
āRetail customers will be eligible to receive a complimentary adapter if ordered by June 30, 2024. Future Ford EV customers can purchase the...
I got this update yesterday while on a long road trip. Havenāt been connected to WiFi for a week. While driving my Bluetooth and CarPlay started acting weird and disconnected for about a minute. When I stopped the truck later, I noticed I had the āupdate completeā message in the app. Nothing on...
I donāt think itās that smart. Ford is only giving out adapters for free through June. After that, any new vehicles purchased will have the OPTION to purchase an adapter. Thereās never going to be a day where every 2022-2024 has an adapter handy. IMO, theyāre just slow on the uptake and theyāll...
Bingo. NACS and Tesla are basically the same thing. Apple/Ford just needs to add āTesla (adapter needed)ā as an option into Apple Maps like they did on FordPass.
It seems that Apple Maps auto populates J1772 and CCS1, but I canāt get it to realize I have a NACS adapter. Is this an option? I can select Tesla as a network but I think that will only give me magic docks.
Is Jake a Ford employee? And that comment only addressed the charging speed staying the same and the sync interface updates.
what about the pro power when the truck is off?
and will 12ā screens get the interface updates as well?
Yes! The 12ā screens need love too! Theyāre certainly big enough to support video apps. Not sure why Ford didnāt think to include this feature on the 12ā trucks.
Iāve had no issue with mine, but I only installed it because it was free. Resale value of these things seems low today compared to last year.
I wish the cable was less bulky and that it had a standard J1772 instead. Iām on a 50A breaker and donāt intend to use the home backup.
