Iāve pulled the logs in Xcode. Itās used 38%. This app should be using sub 2% or less given its on a background thread and Iāve not driven the truck.
Well, something not right! FordPass has used 38% of phone battery in 1hr 34mins between this morning and now.
Just going to disable app when not driving and enable it when I am as I use PAAK instead of lugging around the grossly oversized key fob that come with the truck.
Hopefully the issue...
Yep did a hardware reset (always do after any OS install/update š) .
This morning after I noticed the high battery use by the FordPass App I uninstalled the App, rebooted and then reinstalled it. I will keep an eye on it to see if it fixes the drain I noticed last night.
Interesting!
I didnāt have this issue with my old phone (iPhone 13 running iOS 18) nor on my wifeās iPhone 16pro max running iOS 18. I just see it on my new phone (iPhone 17ProMax) have iOS 26.0.1. Will upgrade wifeās phone to iOS 26 (if sheāll let me) to check.
For the record I donāt see...
My phones battery was a lot lower than I expected this morning (I donāt always charge my phone overnight) so I looked at what was consuming power, looks like FordPass App is a battery hog in iOS 26.
It used 28% battery power in the background in 31m???? What could this app possibly need to do...
Hmmmm I think there's just an ever so small bit of an exaggeration in your quotation of "dozens"... where I'm from a dozen is 12, or 13 if you're a baker.
I will concede the roll out has started so there is a positive and it is to be applauded. Kudos for pointing this out in relation to my...
No, definitely not worth purchasing.
I donāt have mine connected as a whole house back up so Iām ignoring that function.
I only have it because it was included with the truck. Itās got very limited scheduling and functionality compared to a lot of other options out there.
I would keep as far...
Apple Maps is pretty decent, you can set different vehicles and preferred charging providers. Itās not locked behind a pay wall (ignoring Apples walled Garden). Google Maps is a close second but not as flexible in selecting preferred charging providers. ABRP is good but itās behind a paywall for...
LMAO! Theyād (Ford Motor Company) be better suited getting everybody up dated to the latest version of BC and all the OTA updates instead of having a first, second, third class etc tiered user system. Seems they are more interested in marketing features than releasing them! Iām still on 1.0 so...
Seriously Ford, where do you get your software engineers from?
A simple API call that a new graduate could implement in their sleep to bring the user directly to the manual for his/her vehicle based on vehicle(s) already in the app and you canāt even do that? Why bother!
95% or more of my charging is done at home with a level 2 Ford Charge Station at about 10.5kW. Can do 16kW buy why when I never need to charge quickly. I plug it in every time Iām home and I charge typically from 50-80% every 2nd or 3rd day. Every now and then Iāll go from 35% to 80% and when...
I expect my 2023 Lightning will be receiving this update in the distant future, given I havenāt even received BC 1.4 yet!!! Jeez! Milk the knowledge base here but only release on current model year vehicles! Frustrating!!!
I really hope it happens but talk is cheap, and plans are great, Iāll believe it when I see it on the ground! Personally I only ever charge away from home on long trips. Iām not going to charge for 15 mins when I can get home and charge for a quarter of the cost.
I had no connectivity issues on 18.4, after updating (thanks to my significant other!) to 18.4.1 I have random disconnects and reconnects of CarPlay now!
if you have no issues on 18.4 I would advise not to upgrade if youāre doing so only for CarPlay.
I use a center console safe! Nothing is 100% secure but I leave my wallet and phone (ford app turned off) in there all the time when going for a run. Use the door key pad to lock and get back in.
RainX Orange in the fall/winter (has freeze protection) and RainX Green in spring/summer (better are getting mushed bugs off the windshield). I typically buy them off season as they are discounted at my local Walmart as they try to clear inventory for the switch :-) (Orange cheaper in Summer...
