We have a Ford stamping plant and a GM engine plant in our backyard. I’m impressed every time I go in there, especially when a new line or re tooling is installed. I’d say go for it!
Thanks. I ended up installing it this weekend. Just did a road trip, definitely not as good as the ones that stick out a tad. We will see long term if it protects me from rocks. It does look good
Ya i just saw you live in Texas. He’s probably right. Everything is bigger there haha
You could however easily power a window shaker for your 10mo old room.
Not being an electrician, The fact that it has 4 120V plugs should allow me to power anything I need for a power outage (furnace, fridge, lights).
Having used the generator feature MANY times already, I will say it uses much more gas than a wheel around generator. Probably close to a 2:1 ratio...
I got the flat OEM one. Can anyone confirm that has it that it actually does a decent job “defecting” bugs and stones?
My last truck had one with a small gap and worked great. Just want to make sure before I install.
Part I got is VML3Z16C900A
Can you post an update when installed? I’m new to towing but think I should get airlift. I squat a few inches when towing my work trailer. Was gunna take it to a scale in next week or so to see what tongue weight is. It’s got load dist hitch but still seems to squat a bunch
+1. Very underated part of the lariat! I’m worried about it fading over time, do you guys use leather conditioner on it just like any other leather seat?
Trucks not even a month old and got a stone chip on windshield. I remember I got like 3 right away on last F150, then I got a bug deflector and not one chip in ten years. I’m now reminded this is needed! Ugh, NY roads are filled with potholes/stones
Wouldn’t think they put water heater and ac on the same leg? Those are probably by far the two biggest draws. My work trailer has all kinds of HVAC equipment and I had a 3/4 ton heat pump and 2kW water heater running simultaneously (with a pump, fans, and bunch of other stuff). The shutting off...
I appreciate the confidence in longevity. Yes I try to pay attention to loading it but have about 30 gallons of water stored up in the nose of the trailer. So right off the bat there is a few hundred extra pounds towards the front. I’ll have to get a picture of it driving to see if you think...
I’ve got that already setup. Def helps. I don’t tow a ton, but figured the air bags would prolong the life of my suspension and reduce long term sagging?
The thing pulls like a champ compared to my 2010 f150. Power and braking are soooo easy. Just looking to level it a tad.
In my eyes the...
That’s interesting. I was just starting to look into air bags as I tow around 7k lb trailer for work around once a month and def have a bit of squat. Where did you see you can’t add them? Appreciate it
Top notch write up. Really appreciate your time. What is this surge guard you speak of. I have a large trade show trailer I will be pulling for work that we currently use a 7kw gas generator (so noisy!). We have some ac equipment and electric heaters. Guessing around 5kw fully loaded up. Is this...
Update - emailed bedrug. Got a very dull email back that was not accommodating what so ever. Not even a “hey you can do this”. And they didn’t even answer me on if they have ever installed one actually... disappointing.
“Our part does not accommodate for the work surface on the tailgate.
Thank You”
