Thanks for the thought. Old age, weak back, weak mind so I forgot basics. I thought it was pretty heavy and the trailer did not sway, at least at low speeds. But next time I haul logs I think I will put a jack under the tongue to raise it and make sure it's a lot heavier than I want to lift...
Yup, that worked. I thought the truck would recognize that there was no trailer and change settings since it shoed me a messages that the trailer was not attached... Duh.
I created a separate surging thread since this seems focused on heavy towing while I experienced surging while towing a very light trailer.

I experienced surging (back and forth pulsing) in my 2023 Lightning Lariat ER while towed a Harbor Freight 1750 lb rated trailer with two 10 Ft logs about 0-12 inches in diameter when going up 2-3 degree hills.
I estimate each log was about 300+ lbs. so total loaded trailer weight was likely...
Did you stay on dry sand or on "moist" sand? Did you wash off the underside after wards?
Please keep us posted on the condition of the underside over time (rust, bearings.)
I've noticed my m/k has also been going up a little on highway trips and particularly on local road trips. Yesterday I...
The video link is not working for me. So, why do you need this? I thought Tesla cars came with a CCS1 to NACS adapter or you can get them from Tesla. Why is this special for the Ford Charger Pro?
Dash mount is nice, but I found these videos and Etsy link for console mounting the rotary shifter that seems a bit easier - no harness extension.

I wonder if anything you put in will not rub against the paint... unless you put double sided tape and stick it to both the cab and the bed. The part in between would need to be flexible. I'm thinking maybe cut a strip from a very heavy tarp and add tape at each long edge.
Of course removing...
Getting the front sensors update at the dealer reset several settings including speed limit automation and radio settings. Fairly often during 2024 over the air software updates my radio settings got reset, and sometimes other settings. seems to be a little better recently but software quality...
I went with a Lear quad fold. It still takes some space at the head of the bed but the bed camera can see over it. Some Trifolds I looked at blocked the camera. I DO NOT carry straw.
BTW, the little lever to release the supports that hold the cover open vertically broke. I have to use a...
Purchased April 29, 2023. Ordered a couple weeks later. Target date (you have to keep checking the web site for adapter tracking: https://www.ford.com/myaccount/connected-services?vin= ...insert your vin... &keyName=chargeradapterstatus#/Subscriptions.ChargerAdapterStatus) was October, then...
Mine also starts toasty on Pre-departure heating, then drops off... I wonder if it is tied to the cabin temp setting - I keep mine at 65. Something to experiment with next time I go for a short trip.
I agree, there should be a steering wheel temp setting you can change.
I have over a dozen charging apps on my phone but ChargeFinder, PlugShare, and A Better Route Planner help the most. Before a trip, I usually check an area and route using ChargeFinder which shows stations from many providers and many levels. I then open likely locations to find charge rate and...
I have watched mine as I went past a sign and it was almost parallel to the sign when it recognizes it and changed speed targets. Once I saw it switch speeds when I did not see a sign around, but it may have been reading something else. The target speed was correct for that road.
Speed...
My Reported range is down from 242 in summer to 196 in 20 degree temps (at 80% target). 35 mile reported range drop going from 70 degrees to 40 degrees.
Note that this is the "Estimated" range which is very questionable. My miles/kW dropped from 2.4 in summer to 1.4 in 20 degree weather...
This is also one of my complaints about Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC - which I think is what BC uses.). I wish that I could tap the brake (or even press a - button) to initiate slowing down and braking way before the truck recognizes that there is a car stopped or going very slow a few hundred...
I get a passenger side rattle when the seat belt not secured properly. Once I move the seat belt latch tongue up or down it gets cured. An open window can make the seat belt vibrate and slap against the door post.
I've used an extension cord on 110v to charge but the plugs, especially at the ford mobile charger, get warm. My cord is 12 Gauge. I used a regular long cord once but it was a top off and maintenance charge which have a much lower amp draw.
If you don't install a L2 charger you can go with the...
