I had a weird noise coming from behind me that I tracked down to the headliner. The dealer fixed it. The paperwork made it sound like they had some sort of device that the put in the truck while driving around that triangulates the source of the sound.
I think I heard in a video somewhere that Ford referred to this system (not in a negative way) and Sigenergy (Pointguard's parent company and what they are rebranding to) shows a V2X compatibility list on their site that lists the Lightning as compatible. That's as specific as I know.
I just signed a deal to add solar, the PointGuard system, qty 3 of the 8kWh batteries (24kWh total), a load hub, and the V2X module to my home. Will likely be 2-3 months til turnup. Super excited.
I don't use my built-in ports either, in favor of a PD adapter. I think it is time all USB-C adapters are PD. I love being able to charge my phone or laptop off the same port. If there was a way to pop out the factory ones to replace with PD (without breaking the data connectivity), I would...
My accountant let me know that my return WAS accepted. So even with the late report with the accurate put-in-service date, I can confirm it worked all the way to a successful IRS acceptance.
I am happy to report that, after months and months of phone calls, emails, social media posts, in addition to Attorney General, BBB, and FTC complaints, I FINALLY got Robert Horne Ford to figure out how to register for the IRS portal and submit my EV sale report!
My EV purchase now shows on...
And if the dealer never registered the sale of the VIN with the IRS, then do we know what happens? I'm assuming this VIN will be cross checked against their database of reported sales...
I purchased my truck back in April from Robert Horne Ford in the Phoenix area. They said they weren't setup to give me the tax credit at time of purchase but that I could do it at tax time. That was fine. Well then, a month or so later, I found out I was supposed to have received this form...
I have a '23 Lariat and there is a rubber bumper piece on each side where the tailgate closes. When the tailgate is closed, it sits between the tailgate and the side of the bed. One of them is really loose and has fallen out once. By chance are you missing one or both of those?
My dealership service writer was able to look up exactly what was wrong in their system via my VIN without touching my truck. He ordered a new shifter to fix the issue. Once in, I dropped my truck off and picked it up later that day all fixed up.
I had the same service error and noise on my shifter. When I took it in the dealer said the powertrain error was pointing to a bad shifter actuator (motor to move my shifter). They replaced it under warranty and all has been fine since.
I got the powertrain warning at about 3k miles, and it freaked me out. I had no loss of power though and it turned out it was just the motor that moves the shifter (like to retract it to use the work surface or to shift to park automatically when you shut off the vehicle). Dealer replaced the...
