Thank you. Generally, I agree with you. Using a geni in an enclosed area (e.g. the frunk, bed etc) is a last-ditch option, but if necessary, I would like to make sure the frunk/bed etc are well ventilated for both combustion air, fumes, heat and as applicable, drainage.
No, I rarely need more...
I hear you.
I generally use the vehicle's Pro Power bed outlets for camping while proximate to Level 3 chargers, but shifted to also using a Bluetti Apex 300 (with the DC hub) for more remote camping & travel. That works well as the Apex charges relatively fast from solar. Unfortunatly, that...
I understand & generally agree. It's just that the result of several remote trips (see some examples above) suggest I need to carry a geni to supplement my emergency energy needs.
If I have to carry a geni, it needs to go somewhere. In a perfect world, I wouldn't need to relocate the geni...
Thank you. I understand.
The scenario(s) for needing to run a geni (as silently as possible) are remote. Under most conditions I would just run it outside of the truck (from neither the frunk nor the bed). However, based on my in-field experiences (see above), I determined I need to carry a...
I hear you.
The frunk is designed to support 120v and low voltage appliances. It seems logical to want to ventilate/drain those when the power to supply them is provided. As noted in the above response, I'm looking for what the frunk can do as opposed to what it was originally designed to do...
Thank you. I understand & agree in principle. Please forgive my lengthy reply. It's intended to address multiple Forum responses.
Below are real world adventures that were (in part) intended to stress me and the EV systems. I concluded the hardware & software was pretty darn good, but still...
Has anyone successfully ventilated their frunk?
I have a dual-fuel generator that fits in the ice well (Pulsar GX400BN). I'm thinking about running it WITH THE FRUNK LID CLOSED to minimize generator noise while camping. The generator will need combustion air and to have the exhaust vented to...
Thanks for your post. Yep. I had a less tramatic failure with the stock Generals.
I had one give up on me while on a road trip from San Francisco to Phoenix a couple months ago. I was passing through Pomona CA. The tire inflation warning lit showing air pressure dropped to >30 lbs & was falling...
Good question. I've been left with a very (very) low charge in some pretty remote areas by the Ford navigation system. I understand it's all a learning experience and that it will take time, but that's not much help when you're in BFE with near zero charge.
In terms of access to Tesla super...
I'm in a 2023 Lightning & a Hiatus (hard sided) pop-up. I've been sleeping on a HEST Dually foam mattress. I just recently added a Hypervent anti-condensation map under the foam.
It's been an exceedingly comfortable mattress (I sleep really well on it), but I have been traveling from the...
