I had a similar situation happen with my MachE, I brought it in to put the summer tires back on and when the service intake person brought it up, I noticed that there were 14 updates not done. I pushed to have them updated and they informed me I would need to pay for them unless the car was...
  2. ICYMI: Ford Lightning is top selling EV truck OF ALL TIME

I was hoping that this would be the reality by 2030. Sadly North America has stopped moving forward because of certain people that I will not name. The future of the NA auto industry is not good. China innovates are break neck speed. New modal yrs are no longer taking yrs to change but months...
  3. Pre-conditioning.

You are welcome, I have two EV's and done lots of research on them. Google is also amazing. The challenge sometime on these forums is a bit of opinion comes into the mix and can cause confusion. I was watching the thread and the answers are not wrong, just that if charging at home, the...
  4. Pre-conditioning.

If at home, the pre-conditioning will warm up the battery for cold conditions and if selected, warm up or cool down the cabin temp. Not totally sure if it cools down the battery for hot climates but it may since 2024 models do have the heat pump
  5. Pre-conditioning.

If you are on the road travelling, this is what happens: Yes, the Ford Lightning will pre-condition its battery when a DC fast charger is set as a destination or waypoint in Google Maps on Android Auto. This feature, known as En-Route Preconditioning, ensures the battery is at its optimal...

  8. Power onboard turning off

Good morning to all I have the Ford Lightning XLT, love the truck since my trips are all short so range is not an issue. However, I charge my golf battery up while not driving the truck and have not found a way for the Truck to continue charging the battery. I set "power onboard" to stay on but...
  9. 2023 F-150 Lightning Windshield Cracked After Defrost—Ford Won’t Cover It! Help Needed

Well you can call it what you want. Everyone has a reason for buying the vehicle. I seldon fine two people that buy the same vehicle for the same reason. The fact of the matter is, vehicles are the second largest expenditure a person makes, maybe the largest it you account for the amount of...
  10. 2023 F-150 Lightning Windshield Cracked After Defrost—Ford Won’t Cover It! Help Needed

Let him vent, it is very upsetting to have such a finely tuned investment have a weak link. I am in the same boat, asking myself why I went down this path of electric only to have silly issues like this happen.
  11. 2023 F-150 Lightning Windshield Cracked After Defrost—Ford Won’t Cover It! Help Needed

You can pre-condition your vehicle with no environmental on but if you want to preheat the cabin, I am not sure if you can select how the heat is distributed. My XLT Lightening 2024 has a heat pump so it warms slower that my MachE that has almost instant heat.
  12. 2023 F-150 Lightning Windshield Cracked After Defrost—Ford Won’t Cover It! Help Needed

$1,400 CDN, insurance will cover the cost but I have a high deductible to keep cost down. So out of the pocket it comes. Oh well, the government prints this stuff every day. I do know what the other guy is saying, I am always careful to warm the car up and when this happens, its frustrating. I...

Same thing just happen to me yesterday on my MachE, no chip, windshield was pre-heated for my trip and out of nowhere, a hair line crack started up as I drove. 15. Is NEVI dead?

Great idea and while they are at it, continue to subsidize the oil industry to the tune of 10X the NEVI funding. Makes total sense, put the gear in to "R" for race and here we go, (backwards). Interesting, China will move forward and all the North American governments put a 100% tariff, what a...
  16. Is NEVI dead?

No kidding, while they are at it, build a wall on the Northern board so they can keep the immigrants from fleeing to Canada
  17. i need serious help on this decision

totally agree, the government just wants everyone to repeat in the mirror "the golden age of America is upon us now" Sounds like the words of a dying empire.
  18. i need serious help on this decision

If the US leaders hold down the development of electric cars and shield NA from competition, this leaves little incentive for the lazy NA manufactures to move for on tech. Just look at the difference where China is verses the rest of the world. The industry needs a good butt kicking. 10 yrs from...
  19. i need serious help on this decision

Sadly, the "orange Jesus" in office now will not stop subsidizing the Oil industry. Thats different than EV apparently. This may slow down the development of EV's in North America but the rest of the world will power on. Four years from now, North America will be even further behind the Chinese...
  20. i need serious help on this decision

Yes it is faster than the machE and holds for a longer time line. Speed of charging tends to only be relevant if you charge at Super Chargers. At home is a non event unless you drive a lot.
