Years ago I fell for the Big Brother treatment with Allstate as they promised "up to 40%" savings if I complied. They were the OBD-II plug-in type and they had to be installed on every vehicle on the policy. (We had 4 vehicles for 2 people)
At our first renewal, we got our "savings" report...
Remote Start doesn't require Premium Connectivity on my '24 Lariat. It just doesn't work very well. Where I normally park I can always get SOC updates while it is charging and conduct lock/unlock, but turning on climate only works 1 out of 5 attempts. What's worse is it will tell me it...
You're lucky. My dealer is so EV incompetent that my dealer sent me a "personal" note congratulating me on my 1 year anniversary of purchasing my Lightning and offering me a 50% discount on my next oil change.
Look at the total cost vs what your dealer is offering. I purchased in 2024 before they had the fee, but even if there had been the 10% fee I still would have bought my plan through them as it was $1800 less than what my dealer wanted for the same plan.
One clarification I'd ask is if the 10%...
I would love to get an answer to this question. I finally got BC 1.4 on Sunday morning (11/2/25). I might actually consider subscribing if I could ever see it working. Absolutely unwilling to pay $50 for a month to find out since previous versions were such hot garbage.
I agree with you if there was nothing wrong. They spent the time diagnosing just to find nothing, so they deserve to be paid for that time. I missed that there was nothing wrong with it.
This infuriates me. If updates in your vehicle are jacked up and it takes a service visit to get it straightened out (even if they did get it done correctly), how is this possibly not something covered as part of covered service unless you did something to screw it up?
I agree, they are at least on the path to making it right, so that's a great thing! Any fight over fault is between Ford and the Dealership. That battery pack is quite expensive and I'm betting the dealership will be eating a fair chunk if not all of the cost as they ruined it. The part is...
Yikes. All of the rest of this aside, this is simply not your issue, so they need to make it right by providing you with a loaner until they can get it fixed. If it drags on too long, I'd suggest investigating whether or not you are still covered by your state's Lemon Law statutes. I would...
The modem in the truck may have locked up and you'll need to reset it by pulling the fuse for it or unplugging the modem itself behind the passenger back seat. See if you can get other functions to work from remote like changing the target charge or lock/unlock.
I've had the issue and you can...
