  1. Rivian Adventure Network (RAN) Now Open to Non-Rivian EVs

This is helpful, thanks. I do know that I have seen at least one Rivian charger on Google Maps, but it is fairly close to my house, and so I've never needed it.
  2. New Owner - Tesla to Ford transition (home charging questions with a Tesla wall connector)

I did the same thing last November. I had the Tesla charger on the back wall of my garage, and would back the Model Y in for charging. When I brought the truck home, I didn't have an adapter, so I would plug in using the kit they gave me at the dealer (and plugged it into the dryer socket in the...
  3. Waffle House adding Chargers

I received this link recently, and thought I would pass it along... https://bppulsefleet.com/press/bp-pulse-signs-strategic-agreement-with-waffle-house-to-expand-ultrafast-ev-charging-network-in-the-us/
  4. Rivian Adventure Network (RAN) Now Open to Non-Rivian EVs

So, I have ABRP and Google Maps. Do I need the plugshare app to find Rivian chargers? BTW, I went to Freeport because I knew they had Tesla Superchargers. On that day, those were all full, and so I tried the RIvian.
  5. Rivian Adventure Network (RAN) Now Open to Non-Rivian EVs

I tried. There are a bunch of Rivian chargers in Freeport (they are on the map). I tried plugging the Lightning in when I was there in December, and got "Incompatible" errors both on the charger and on my screen. Maybe they hadn't opened the network yet. On another note, does anyone know...
  6. Well This Can’t Be Good. FORD FIRES 350 in Software Group

Agree. They are handing the world over to China. I had an Uber ride on a recent trip to London in a BYD. If they start selling here, they probably will do very well. It was a pretty impressive ride. The driver wouldn't tell me what the company paid, but he said it cost less than than a Model 3.
  7. ABRP v Google Maps

Yeah, I think your're right. I also appreciate the flexibility. I can set the percentage I'm comfortable with instead of using a 20 percent default.
  8. ABRP v Google Maps

I had a lot of bad luck trying to let Google Maps plan my stops. After many discussions in this forum with a lot of very helpful people, I decided to try ABRP. It has a lot of flexibility, and seems able to find some compatible chargers that Maps missed. UPDATE: After using ABRP for a while, I...
  9. ABRP v Google Maps

After reading a lot of good stuff in these forums, I got a dongle and sprang for ABRP Pro. I like it, but I have a couple of observations. One, I would like it even better if it had some method for pulling all my saved destinations from Google Maps. Two, I have noticed that its initial...
  10. Walmart EV Charging Network to Blanket US. First Charge Experience & Review

I wonder if the curtailing of federal incentives will have an impact on WalMart's plans.
  11. Owners - Do you drive in one pedal mode or traditional ?

I don't know....one-pedal is the default on Teslas. In my model Y I always thought that you got regen when you backed off on the accelerator, and you only got friction if you used the brake pedal. I'm pretty sure that when I did use the brake pedal in the Tesla, it was kicking in the disc brakes.
  12. Ford Lightning one pedal drive

I always use it. I got used to it when I had a Tesla. I don't know if it actually adds anything in terms of range, because you get regenerative braking with or without it. I was just used to it, so I turned it on when I bought my Lightning.
  13. Tesla Update Brings Adaptive High-Beam Headlights To North America

I don't know, because the video was removed. I have been very impressed with the way my Lightning's headlights work.
  14. Tow Report: Ford Lightning vs. 4500lbs of Raccoon-Covered History

Sounds like good news, and what a fun post!
  15. Passenger mirror tilt option possible?

Yeah...I just used it to supplement the cameras. The backing up picture I get from my Lightning is way better, but I'd still like to have the downward mirrors for parallel parking, to see the curb more clearly (especially when the weather masks the cameras).
  16. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

No, it's not that we get nothing. If I send them a KW while producing, then I get it back when the sun goes down. I've only had this for about a year (they connected it up in April last year). During the winter, my electric bill goes up to a max of around $800 a month during December and...
  17. How far are you from a DCFC? (Within 200 miles in the Contiguous US)

Great question. I live in Maine, and tried to go north a couple of years ago (had a Tesla at the time). When I got to Presque Isle, I found one charger that was a very weak parking lot charger at some public works facility. I spent several hours there getting enough charge to get back to the...
  18. Passenger mirror tilt option possible?

That's a great idea. I had this feature in my Model Y...it actually moved both mirrors. Sometimes it was unhelpful, but those times were rare, and most of the time it was very helpful.
  19. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

In Maine they don't buy it back, per se. We get "credits" so if I send a KW to the grid, I get a KW back from it later. Sort of like getting store credit instead of cash back.
  20. 2024 Platinum replaced 2023 Lariat 1st impression

Thanks for that clarification. Seems like an odd design choice...
