I'd Really appreciate if you could let me know how that was accomplished. I'm on a cross country trip in my truck and need to spend a night in the truck here and there. Thank you sir!
Anyone have noise coming from leaf springs on their F150?
Specifically a dull "tap on empty plastic gas can" type thunk, when going over bumps and turning on inclines at low speeds.
I do think it's correlated to grime/junk building up between the springs.
Just a little embarrassing to have a...
Tires do not limit load. If you do the math on GVWR and the combined load rating of the tires on each axle.
LT tires in general are more stable and probably wear better when towing though.
Look at the tow rating of your vehicle. Powerboosts its anywhere from 7k to 12kish (if you have trailer...
The firestone destination at2 is highly rated in all conditions. Low weight and low rolling resistance too, so you won't loose any power or mpg.
The Cooper At3 4s is also worth a look.
Just an FYI - these do NOT fit trucks with the CCD damper option.
The magnetic rear shocks are too big for the moldings.
Will be trying the oem ford ones.
You are 100x better off going to crutchfield.com. Just 4 upgraded door speakers without an amp may sound better than the B&O. And you will pay way less. Add an amp to those speakers and you will be better than most stock systems on the market.
Hmm. Went to look at this today and it seems that 01 is the config for my powerboost from the factory in 727-04-01 xxxx **xx xx . Appreciate it though.
But Im loving the quiet actually. Especially since I got the new PCM update and my trans is shifting way smoother.
I also updated my post here - https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/towing-specs-consolidated-document-bumper-vs-class-iv-vs-tow-vs-max-tow-updated-doc-v4.1188/post-67394
I think that Ford just had to include everything beefy standard in powerboost since it needs a heavier frame to support...

That's an older version of the document - a newer one shows that all PB models have the solid...
On my truck (Powerboost tow tech) I have not found 1 part I dont have that a Trailer Tow package truck has - same leaf springs, sway bar, transmission, radiator, brakes, parking brake, ect.
Basically nothing that will make my truck tow worse than a trailer tow truck in the 6 to 9k range...
I have the standard aluminum lariat wheels. I always get complements.
And the performance benefits are real - feels way faster than my parents' Platinum Powerboost with the 20's, 33 inch tires + extra platinum weight.
Thanks ROBB1 - I was trying to switch to the 3.5 ecoboost sound enhancement on my Powerboost, since to me it sounds much better and less obtrusive than the hybrid's version of it.
I will give it a shot thank you!
No unfortunately. You can't actually configure those last 2 digits - they default to some number that forscan or the truck's computer chooses after you try to write to them.
You probably could change the sound by changing the correct engine config somewhere...
Request - can anyone with a 3.5 ecoboost Lariat or above post their configuration for this module:
ACM 727-01-01
The 3.5 eco has the best sound fake engine noise lol.
It won't hurt your truck. It just activates lockers (if you have), puts you in 4L, and adjusts throttle + transmission setpoints along with traction control.
