That’s a known issue w F150 and especially super duty plow trucks . They have a goood amount of wiring harness issues there usually not long after the bumper to bumper warranty expires on heavily used trucks .

Ford will not let you hurt the battery it will reduce power as needed slowing you down to maintain safe battery temps . So it really doesn’t matter to most people on cooler areas , the truck protects itself , the extra cooling all seems to go thru the same size condenser anyway . That’s where...

I’m in the same boat bought mine 12/19/24 . I also own a plug in hybrid so I’m well aware of what cold temps do to range . Takes my Toyota from 55 miles of range to 30 tops . Range is getting better on the lightning now .

lol this screen is a joke . What if do to have the standard 12” display and hvac controls . Really wish I’d bought a 23 XLT Er that’s the last ER without the goofy screen . Between the delay getting in and just 3 steps to do everything when simple Knobs worked forever

A slightly larger 12v battery would solve most of those concerns for daily use anyway .

Biggest issue is it would only be a battery warmer on. Lightning , as it has no heater core . You’d have to install an aftermarket one w fan somewhere in the cab . Then you’d have to pipe it into your existing ducts to get a real defrost system. Just seems like to much money, work and modding...

This is a half ton tpersonal use truck . It’s not an HD , the most ppl usually carry is some groceries and maybe tow a small trailer it’s not like you can carry anything big in the 5ft bed anyway . If I am going to load it up, I’d take the heavier duty GM w its 8 lug wheels and HD brakes...

I haven’t seen anything exceptional about the lightning to believe it’s better than the Silverado ev. The lightning while it drives nice and it quiet ,it has a lot of software issues, and updates often don’t come or get hung up . The body panel fitment is a joke for such an expensive vehicle ...

Then torque is what gets you going , in the SR is noticeably lighter with the same amount of torque instantly off the line, I would think it would be very similar out of the hole if anything the lighter truck may jump if traction is available , once moving the larger Battery higher horsepower...

Trucks won’t ever be there , durability is far more important in a pickup than a Porsche , Battery pack on the Porsche is just like its gas engines , very high output and short life . Our pickups are built to last not go and charge fast , just my .02c👍
