  1. How often do you actually use the 9.6 kw pro power on board?

So long story short, your doing your own load shifting by flipping your own switch manually. . .I have that right? I was debating on something similar which is why I asked. I do have the home integration kit, and it's worked for me the 2 times the power has went out, but. . . I really want...
  2. How often do you actually use the 9.6 kw pro power on board?

I was perusing threads, and just noticed this quote above. . . @Hammick if you're still around, I'm curious when you say, "powers your house every single day" what do you mean? Are you using the Home Integration System and just throwing your breaker? Or using your plugs from the truck? I am...
  3. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

My house load, with literally everything on is not more than about 6-7K. I definitely make more than that at peak times. My solar array will generate upwards of 14K, but not quite what the charger will attempt to pull from the truck at full bore. But as I mentioned before, the reason I got...
  4. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

Also thank you all for the input, it was very helpful even though I know I wasn't really asking directly about my truck.
  5. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

You can adjust how much the charger tries to pull in theory though there's a lot of debate on whether or not that actually works. I probably will do this if/when I add home batteries so that I can stay away from the grid as much as possible. . . .
  6. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

Indeed, hence why I'm basically going off grid in the city. . .crazy expensive
  7. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

I figured it out! It's a timing thing. . . the solar coming in is indeed either going directly to the truck when charging, or powering the house, or going back to the grid, but the meter is only showing me a snapshot number that represents the state at that current time. Sometimes when I'd see...
  8. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

Right right, I get that. . . but maybe that's more the essence of my question. . . can it feed energy in both directions at the same time. . . ?
  9. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

I never once said it had anything to do with the Lightning. . . I asked the question in this forum b/c it was the easiest place to start. To your point, I did call the solar company, and I didn't get an answer that made sense beyond, "I'm pulling from the grid when charging the truck" which I...
  10. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

I understand just fine, there's no need to get testy. I'm simply telling you all what my meter is saying, and trying to figure out why the math doesn't add up. I'll take some pictures and post back.
  11. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

Yeah i mean I can take some pictures just to show what I'm talking about. . . I'll try tomorrow
  12. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

"So continuing to use the example numbers above, if the truck is drawing 11KW, the meter should be showing about 5KW. " This is exactly my point. . . .if I plug in the truck, the meter says it's pulling roughly 15KW from the grid, and the truck in turn says it's charging at roughly 15KW. If...
  13. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

I'm not making it complex. . . I'm simply telling you all what's happening. It's noon in SoCal. I know that I'm "receiving" 10-13 KW from my 41 solar panels. I plug in my truck to charge, which according to the Ford app is pulling in 15.6 KW. My power meter also says I'm pulling in roughly...
  14. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

No my solar inverter does not have it's own app. It's all SunRun, but I in effect have 2 systems b/c part of it was leased and part was not. I also have the Ford Charge station pro and the home integration kit to power the house if power goes out. I certainly can adjust my FCSP, and am...
  15. What Features Do You Want to See In Next Gen Lightning?

600 mile+ range (solid state / near solid state batteries are sooo close ) 800 Volt+ charging system Dynamic drag reduction such as: Popup / foldable / hideable rear bed covering Control over air intake for battery cooling Wheel rim closures/wheel well closures More sloped windshield (not...
  16. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

What you're saying is what I thought would be true, but if that was true then my meter wouldn't be reading 15KW in from the grid at noon when I'm charging the truck. It should be reading something like 6-7KW in b/c I'm also generating solar right? Plus how would it be that my meter and the...
  17. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

Right but my question is if the solar is producing less than what I'm drawing (e.g. b/c the truck is charging), but is still producing where is that energy going? Like I said, when charging I can see that i'm drawing ~15K according to the meter and I know that's the rate the truck is charging...
  18. Home Vehicle Charging with lots of solar panels and net metering question.

I figured I'd try asking this question here first since it is about my F150 Lighting. When charging my lightning (up to 90%), I'm drawing roughly ~15KW. I have 41 solar panels that can max generate as much as about 12-13 KW but that of course is only at peak times. I average about 7-8KW over...
