    Stopped twice to charge on the way up and back. no problems whatsoever on the trip. Not until I arrived at home to charge did things go wonky.

    There was elevation change of about 600 feet. I drove from Baton Rouge to Birmingham and averaged 2.0 miles per kwh on the way up and 1.7 on the return. Lots of wind and a 30-minute thunderstorm with heavy rain on the return leg.

    *****************UPDATE*********** Finally got to the dealer. Problem is related to a fault with the gear shifter. Apparently, this a common problem with all ford trucks, not just the Lightning. The dealer said they would overnight the part and try to install tomorrow or Wednesday. About 3 weeks...

    I have charged on my level 2 charger with no problem. I may try a supercharger tomorrow and see how that works. Thanks for the tip!

    I dont have a voltmeter but did check the 12v battery. The positive side was a bit loose...but not much. Thanks for the advise!
