They did. I also reviewed service history and saw the battery health report. The voltage in one cell in one module was considerably lower than the rest.
Update:
Finally heard what really happened... they initially disconnected the 12V battery. Later, they needed to move the truck to another lift. However, they failed to put the truck in neutral before disconnecting the 12V, so they reconnected it to put the truck in neutral and move it. When...
Update: I was informed of the following determination after the SWIS session:
"What we found during the tear down and inspection of the battery cell is that a small amount of coolant sprayed on the front on the assembly. Engineering worked with Patrick
To completely disassemble the battery...
After back-and-forth emails with the Service Director, they are loaning me a Lightning Platinum from their used car lot and delivering to my home today. He knows they are in the wrong but won't say it. This loaner says it, though.
He has all but admitted fault, saying they 'don't know' how the...
So the service manager's response was to tell me that BEV are very complicated vehicles and they do heavily rely on Ford's engineers. He then defended his techs, saying they are "well trained and very competent but are not electrical engineers".
I went off a bit in reply, providing Ford's...
Same issue for me: https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/battery-coolant-leaked-while-with-service-department-for-repair.25066/
But it has turned into a huge fiasco.
I had an odd charging issue, which I have seen others post about: no matter where I set the charge limit, the truck would say it had charged to 100%. But upon starting the truck, the actual percentage would drop to 89%, then 87%, and so on. When I dropped off the truck with the dealer service...
Yep! Instructions on TSBs for software updates always call for connecting a power supply to maintain proper 12V voltage. The Tech must have thought he knew better.
This has happened to others and actually bricked their Lightnings and Mach Es.
