  1. Lightning powering house -

YUP, we are driving enormous batteries that also are able to do a few other things. ;)
  2. Lightning powering house -

Oops, here’s an “in-house link” for the 2.4kW 240v setup. an additional 240v 20amp OUTPUT at the rear BED outlets, via a 'Y' adapter: THANKS! Yes, as I educate myself I have learned about the issues with un-synchronized 120 to get to 240 (I was looking at it from a charging point), so that's...
  3. Lightning powering house -

@Runaway Tractor @chl seems like the two of you can give me a trustworthy answer: What would be the least expensive approach to getting the max home energy out of my 2023 with ER and Tow package (9.6kW). I'm thinking two 30amp Generac (or similar) switch setups with select breakers for the...
  4. Lightning powering house -

I believe you can just divide the battery pack size, say 131kWh by the hourly load, say 3000W or 3kWh to get your answer (43hrs) or 50hrs for 2600w.
  5. 2026 F-150 Lightning STX Model Introduced. Replaces the XLT

Great points on overlooked opportunity, especially the shifter. Replace that POS with the dial selector that folks are retrofitting and pass the savings on. I guess different plastic (tinted) for the front light bar would be an expense, but WELL worth it for many of us.
  6. 2026 F-150 Lightning STX Model Introduced. Replaces the XLT

YES, and the best easiest cheapest way to do that is bigger tires.
  7. 2026 F-150 Lightning STX Model Introduced. Replaces the XLT

I think BOTH would be AWESOME and would show the versatility of the platform!
  8. 2026 F-150 Lightning STX Model Introduced. Replaces the XLT

Well, I think "LipSTX on a pig" is a bit harsh (but appreciate the punny "lipSTX"), but I do generally agree that it is mostly cosmetics. As an XLT owner who bought with the intention of transforming my Lightning into more of a 4x4 than I could buy from Ford I acknowledge this movement in that...
  9. Why was Charger capacity reduced ?

I am SOOOO wanting (and waiting) for this to pan out!....
  10. Leveled Avalanche Lightning (Eibach Stage 1 & 35" Wild Peaks)

Shoot, I made a mistake going by memory (it happens more and more these days), my LT295/65R20s are 35.1x11.6 (12.5 as I stated above). I'll see if I can edit it now, but just wanted to make sure the incorrect information doesn't go to far.
  11. SUPER easy and SUPER cheap fix for minor tire rub on crash bars

I know a lot of folks who are putting bigger tires on are having issues with them rubbing the crash bars. I definitely did not want to cut/remove mine, so went with 295/65s on my OEM 20s knowing it would be tight (I also have a 1" wheel spacer). Others here had said that by switching the crash...
  12. Leveled Avalanche Lightning (Eibach Stage 1 & 35" Wild Peaks)

I have not decided on UCA brand yet. +34 will push the inside plane of the tire out 0.393 inches (great for tire rub issues). To look at it another way, with the same size tires you will have 0.393 inches more "poke" giving it about 3/4 of an inch wider stance. I've gone back and reviewed...
  13. Leveled Avalanche Lightning (Eibach Stage 1 & 35" Wild Peaks)

Just an FYI, I have determined that UCA are advisable, I will have this done before taking it to Hawaii (from NM), because once its there I need it DONE and ready to work, I can't be messing around with it and developing my property/home. I feel like it will be fine for a few more months of...
  14. Why was Charger capacity reduced ?

I'm very interested in learning more about the DC to DC option as I too will be off grid once our new home in Hawaii is built. I always intended for the Lightning to be a component to this off-grid solar plan and hated the DC-to-AC-to-DC (and maybe back to AC!) waste. PM me please if that...
  15. Charging While Driving Works w/ Gas Generator in Bed (Range Extending for F-150 Lightning)

Any energy retrieved from a wheel attachment will first have to be created by another source (the current Lightning motors and battery in this case), if you lost nothing in the process you'd be at net zero gain, but in reality you loose energy every time you convert electricity to motion and...
  16. I converted my Lightning from AWD to a 4x4

Your response confused me because I only had to trim a 1/4" of the studs for the 1" wheel spacers, so 1.5" wheel spacer should not have required any cutting, so I went back to some of our earlier correspondence. Apparently we had a miscommunication here that I want to straighten out for others...
  17. Is it possible to have bigger 12v in the lightning?

I'm planning to take a different approach, for different reasons (winch). Because I'm fairly clueless about electrical mods, and don't want to F anything up, I'm going to install a 12V deep cycle battery in the frunk "cooler" area (don't really seeing using the cooler as such), and have it...
  18. I converted my Lightning from AWD to a 4x4

Shoot, I just remembered: I meant to let people know that with the 1" spacers and OEM wheels you have to shorten the rear wheel studs by 1/4"! Its not super obvious because as you tighten the bolts on the un-shortened studs they bottom out on the back of the wheel, so it looks feels "done"...
  19. I converted my Lightning from AWD to a 4x4

Antimatter Blue, It looks black in low light, but when the sun hits it you get the nice iridescent blues. My only gripe about it is the higher need to keep it clean. Its as bad, or worse, as the two black cars I've owned and said "never again".
  20. Lightning review from a Tesla owner

I think the "notch above" is to be expected given that Tesla is a "Luxury" brand. I'm curious what trim model is your Lightning? (Not that I think the Ford-Platinum bling probably compares to the Tesla bling, but it would be worth knowing.) As an XLT owner, due to wanting to have less "ooh...
