Being as this is a truck forum, I’ll share his first truck. It was a 1979 Ford F150 he bought new. 300 straight six, regular cab, 3 speed manual with a granny, manual transfer case, steel wheels… Bare bones. No air, no radio… It had those manual vents down in the foot well and wings in the...
I get what you are saying OP. Intuitively, the charge limit seems global, therefore if you start charging manually it would sill obey the 80% limit (or whatever you set).
As has been mentioned, it is simply a manual start and stop of charging. Most use it to do a one off 100% charge in...
With the state of things right now, I do not disagree with anything you said. That is why I called it low hanging fruit to move Maps into the right direction. It would not make Apple Maps a great planning tool, agreed.
Its a very simple solution. You prioritize carplay's realtime data when carpplay is available. If not, attempt to hit the FordPass API. If neither is available, give the stupid error about the "battery data is not accurate".
I appreciate the response, but I think you are misunderstanding me. Remembering the state of charge from a point in time in the past is the issue, not the solution. It doesn't provide a pessimistic solution, it provides an entirely incorrect one.
If you only use a few percentage of your...
Doesn't seem like they have improved the EV experience with Maps, which is disappointing.
Some low hanging fruit would be, to pull the current charge status from FordPass for accurate route planning.
Even then, what they are really testing and rating is the EPA’s methodology. Unless Ford (or any of these other manufactures) have made independent claims.
Just to keep the conversation honest, what was the average age of a BEV and an ICE in 2018? Even today, the average age of a BEV is MUCH lower than that of an ICE. There is also the consideration of when and where a fire is likely for each.
Probably most importantly, the NTSB does not even...
It is just dishonest clickbait reporting IMO, which is disappointing for CR. In the first paragraph they state they are comparing EPA estimated range to "real world" 70MPH highway range. We all know that is not how the EPA test works, so what is the point of the article? They do explain this...
For those of you that have received 1.4, I am curious if it has made any improvements with adaptive cruise control as well. Since "ACC" with lane centering is effectively BC without hands free, I was hoping there might be some improvements there as well.
For example, I think Ford requires too...
My most recent update does not show up either. I feel like this happened with the last Ford Pass update as well, but the next truck update did show up ok.
