If the road cam stays on the screen, it is likely falsely detecting ignition like you are thinking. My first guess would be your harness or harness box is having an issue.

Does the comma go offroad when the truck is turned off? Or does the road cam stay on the screen?

That is JX6P. Looks like from a 2018 Focus. If they had it listed as LX6P, I'd ask for a refund.

Those that are doing the retrofit: You may need to lightly file the top corner of the dock for the coupler to seat all the way down, that spot has some support marring that can cause it to not seat fully. Don't go too aggressive, it takes maybe 3-5 strokes of the file to get it right. The thin...

Its possible the resistor on the lightning adapter is bad. I can send you a replacement and see if that resolves your issue.

So something is faulty outside of the harness and comma. Did you make sure the aftermarket cables meet the USB C 3.2 Gen 2x2 spec?

The fact that the coupler being in place changes the startup errors makes me think the comma or the harness may be bad. Can you try plugging the comma into the harness directly with the short 90 degree cable that came with the comma? You can also try the short replacement cable that you bought...
