Nope, no new Sync updates that I could see --but I think I figured out part of what happened. I have a tuck under garage and it appears the truck 'thought' it was not home. The address listed there in the snip is my immediate neighbors (townhome, same building). But it was enough I guess to...
I woke up today to an unplanned and unexpected 100% charge on my '22. I have the default at home and a few other locations set to 90% (work is 95% because its free when I can get a spot) because I don't like to have the truck sit at 100% without a longer trip planned.
The weirdest thing is that...
1 Horsepower = 746 watts
So with my lightning I happen to have a 175.6 (usable) horse-hours pack, but I usually only keep 158 on hand. I also have a 1/4 HP TV.
I like the units game.
Totally --I hadnt thought about the production line investment like you mentioned. With the EREV route, not only would they get to keep playing with the basic BEV tech, the plant wouldnt have to change as much either.
It was part of the homework. The post I was answering set the hypothetical 200kwh battery. I agree it will be a lot less. So much less so that they have to do something else with the cells their factory will be making.
Maybe more interesting with the announcement numbers...
700 miles
Assumptions: 70mph (10hrs), 1.7mi/kwh, 200kwh batt.
200kwh * 1.7 mi/kwh -> 340mi. Need ER 360mi.
360mi / 1.7 mi/kwh -> 212kwh
212kwh / 10 hrs -> 21.2kw gen
Still 20 something kw. The battery pack will be smaller than...
80mph for 5 hours so a 400 mile trip.
1.25miles / kwh efficiency with a 200kwh battery has us at 250 miles. We need 150 miles ER.
150 additional miles at the same efficiency would need 120kwh. To land at exactly 0% at the end of our trip means we have 5 hours to generate it -> 120kwh/5 hours...
Thinking about this for a day I can see how this could be a nice bridge, especially if its designed with modularity in mind (which Im sure it is). The electric motor technology stays...the inverter technology stays...the battery technology stays (if not reduced). Ford still gets to work on and...
Im not so upset at the idea of an EREV. I hope it becomes the stepping stone that everyone seems to need to get comfortable with BEV. --Im no different in that sense, I drove a Volt for 5 years before I fantasized about a lightning.
I snatched my MY22 almost a year ago. I was thinking at the...
That article is totally F'd. I've checked many of the links in the MSN article and it's really strange. It seems like an AI made up plausible sounding links/headlines.
Many of them point to the same missing "article" / broken link. Even though the link is broken, usually you can find the...
That's good point. I think it would be great if there were a button on the wheel that could be pressed with a thumb to initiate the front camera/overhead view. Reaching over to the display is the thing that's kind of disruptive to the flow of parking.
Those are fantastic numbers! From them I would have to guess that you may be somewhere generally warm and generally flat --Florida maybe? Also, possibly your freeway time is significantly less than other distances?
I got mine in December and was hit with the cold snaps here and didn't see...
I think that it is one of those things where having to pay attention to the GoM/Energy use as closely as we do is a bit of a new thing coming from an ICE. We've got a big bucket of energy and we can expend that energy getting from point A to B faster or slower, with heat/AC or not. It's more to...
Oh neat! Im kinda new here and this is more information than I expected. Thanks for the links and the info.
It looks like I got my DDM-25.12.0 on 4/19 and a priority battery management update ECG-25.2.5.7.1 only a few days prior on 4/15.
Thanks --After doing some more reading I feel better knowing that people have had success getting it back online by futzing with the 12v battery and fuse 13 in some cases. I feel like there's some someting to try rather than wait with crossed fingers.
As luck would have it it's back online. Parked it at work and was restored when I left at the end of the day. Hope not to see it again for at least another 24k miles.
