I replaced my front and rear speakers with Alpine R2s based on input in various threads here and other places.
Today I upgraded the center speaker to the Dayton Audio 3.5"; posted details and pics here...
I can't say the volume increased, but it does sound more "defined" for lack of a better word. Again, as I said earlier, I hadn't spent a lot of test/listening time with the default speaker, so not a lot of comparison data.
Replacing the center speaker
NOTE: I have a 2025 Lightning Lariat. The...
Over all it does sound better. That's just my subjective opinion with no data to back it up. ;)
I just got my Lightning mid-June and don't have a lot of drive/listening time before the change. The center speaker is still off/overwhelming, so in the fade/balance I have things two "clicks" to the...
Hadn't seen any posts saying that. Did see one or two that said the holes didn't line up and found a thingaverse 3d printed adapter. Guess I'll find out when the speaker arrives (or as I keep researching).
Haven't finished reading the rest of this thread yet, but I just installed the R2 Alpines in my 2025 Lightning with no issue. Figured I'd go with the R2s in case I ever update the amp/etc. in the future.
Just ordered the Dayton center speaker from Amazon so now trying to figure out what to do...
When my FCSP was installed at the beginning of July there were some problems getting the WiFi for it to show up initially. The installers had to turn off the circuit breaker twice, and they did a hard reset with the button in the FCSP once.
After the second breaker attempt it took more than a...
I'm currently looking for a bed mat as I don't have any type of liner. I want something that fits well, is durable, and will continue to work if I decide later to get a spray-in bed liner.
I saw in one of their videos that an option was to heat that piece up and then close it, when it cooled it would be in the right "form".
I didn't think I should have to (or want to) mess with something that I just bought and expected to work.
I bought one as well but returned it today. No matter what I did I couldn't get the seat to relatch once it was installed. Removed it, and got the seat to latch with no issues.
It's a nice idea, but it's really easy to unlatch it once you know where the knobby bit is.
So, the EVSE is installed. The physical installation went with no issues. When they went to connect it to the WIFI the SSID for the FCSP wasn't showing up. Took them about 20-30 minutes, some power cycles, and a hard reset, but it finally showed up. (I think the solution was just a little...
Update to the update. The installer called this morning. They were nearby and finished another job. They are downstairs doing the install now.
Now if only my Dealer/IRS/Federal rebate issue would resolve itself. lol.
Update: Got an email this morning from the installer. He had a cancellation, so my FCSP will get installed on 7/2 (day before I have to head back to FL).
Will be nice to not have to leave the mobile cord plugged in for extended periods.
My dealer claims they have kept trying the IRS portal with the same results. I'm not there to see them do it, so I just have to believe that they are.
I'm not holding out much hope that they will help or do anything else for me.
I'll try and claim it at tax time in Jan/Feb and see what happens.
Yeah, after getting info from everyone here that's what I was thinking. When the installer immediately said "yes", I figured it was the same gauge wire.
I'm good with the $325. Just couldn't bring myself to pay for the Stepwise "load balancer" for $1500 -- no documentation, almost no info on...
I used my Ford points to get the front/rear mud flaps and the frunk protector. After the points and the discount code it cost me $16 and change. Schweet!
Quote has been updated; the "free" Ford Power Promise 2.0 is going to cost me $325 for permitting/etc.
There's no room in their schedule to get it done before I have to head to FL to deal with my father's estate, so it won't get done until I return in the middle of July.
Here's the updated...
Just talked to the QMerit Installer again. He's going to update the quote (if he even needs to) to install the wiring for the 48/60 configuration but will install the 50 amp breaker and set the EVSE to 40 amp.
I confirmed that he'd be doing conduit and the THHN #6 wire.
I'm guessing the quote...
I saw that, looked up the GEOID for my location, and then checked the PDF they linked to. It showed up. Figured that meant I was eligible. Guess I need to investigate more tonight.
ETA: My area is in a "2020 non-urban census tracts".
Per the IRS notes I should qualify:
" To qualify, the...
One more wrinkle. Looks like I could also qualify for the Federal "Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit" and get a $573.38 credit at tax time. Need to look into this more.
@TaxmanHog Any input on this? (Time to search the forums)
