If you have the standard tow package, you are good up until 11,000 pounds. Max tow is, I believe, 14,000 pounds. Even with out any tow packages at all I don't think 3,800 pounds is a problem. I think Explorers do at least that with the 3.5?
I haven't used it yet but in the built in Ford navigation there is an option to select routing with trailer. Not sure if it's a big deal in most states but here in New York you can not tow a trailer onto a parkway. I don't think waze, google maps, etc have that feature? To me, that feature alone...
