  1. Maybe scrapping the Lightning is a good thing

The Tabby cat in your avatar pic looks exactly like our cat. They are little 'monsters' at times. Crazy
  2. Top 3 lists: what went wrong and right

Locking rear diff would have been amazing. I'd bet an upgrade would be very expensive.
  3. Range not close to as advertised

    Totally agree. Spot on.
  4. Charging while parked & unused (over 2 weeks) in cold weather - recorded data

We traveled away last October and left our 25' Lariot in the garage. I was able to charge/ reach it with Fordpass for solar charging during the day for exactly 72 hours. I've been through this a couple times before. 3 days and it will not charge any longer. Any suggestions on preventing it...
  5. Tesla FSD (Full Self Driving) tested. BlueCruise is good enough

Agree! 0.5% isn't good, but better than most risk tolerant humans drive. We Americans play with a lot of energy in our transportation systems. At some point we have to say good enough. The only thing remaining is individuals choice of what that point is. I am so glad the NTSB throughly...
  6. Suggestion That Tesla's FSD Technology Will Be Next Thing Elon Rents Out to Other Auto OEMs

I didn't notice that... guess the laugh is on me. I don't think it changes anything...
  7. Suggestion That Tesla's FSD Technology Will Be Next Thing Elon Rents Out to Other Auto OEMs

Just saying the 25' Lighting BC vs the 25' Tesla, right now anyway, no comparison. The Ford BC "oscillates" in the lane on the freeway. Left - Right for miles on end. I can't comment on off highway because it makes no attempt..... Tesla has me from door to door. Did Ford engineering fall...
  8. Tesla FSD (Full Self Driving) tested. BlueCruise is good enough

One of the quirks about Tesla is FSD can behave differently from one release to another. We just drove 14.2.2 and was most impressed with how the car handled some complex situations. Parking lots / pedestrians / busy tricky intersections etc. On the other hand, this exact version has Grok...
  9. Tesla FSD (Full Self Driving) tested. BlueCruise is good enough

Teslas FSD 14.2.2 is WAY WAY better than Ford BC will ever be. Pretty much the whole Tesla UI / quality and overall experience is far better than Ford. This is comparing the 25' Lighting Lariot to the 25' Tesla 3 ER. BUT! I simply can't haul a sheet of plywood in the Tesla. Really like the...
  10. Maybe scrapping the Lightning is a good thing

I have two systems. About 2. 5 years ago, did the grid tie / net meter and that has been working very well. I purchased all used panels Enphase IQ8+ micrometers. Reasonably reliable system. LG replaced 7 of the 22 panels under warranty all though they got out of the PV business. Appreciate...
  11. Maybe scrapping the Lightning is a good thing

Curious about your off grid setup. I too charge EVs off grid, although not much this time of year. Two 1860W arrays on the barn roof on this end. Fun to get your motor fuel from the barn roof. :-)
  12. Price per KW to charge at home🏠

Southwestern Ohio here its: 0.16 day 0.11 Nights (8PM-8AM) if you enroll in the EV charger program. Thanks for sharing!
  13. Charging time 90 to 100 and Departure

I think that wasted energy idea "spills" over from FLA days (Flooded Lead Acid). On an "equalize" charge, an amount of heat is released from certain cells while other not fully charged cells are brought up to 100%. Imagine if electric cars still had lead acid technology. Likely this forum...
  14. Charging time 90 to 100 and Departure

Sure enough, I can do 5% adjustments above 80% on Android. Yes, I do see the progress indicator near the "eyelid" of the app. I learn something every day on this forum! Thank You
  15. Charging time 90 to 100 and Departure

Curious if you are on iPhone or Android as my Android will only allow 10% SOC adjustments. When I attempt a "5%" on the 'slide' in the Android app, it jumps to 10% increments only. I know this sounds picky, and like who would need this, but I charge on solar power and to manage this with the...
  16. Charging time 90 to 100 and Departure

Unsure why Ford will not let us Lightning owners set our desired SOC to a specific percentage such as 55%, 99% etc. I also would like to know if a few times per year to charge to 100% is beneficial in any meaningful way for the battery health. I have never charged to 100% yet on the 2025 ER...
  17. Ford App Non-Responsive

In general, the Ford app works poorly, lacks common sense features and can't be depended on. I have to frequently close the app, then reopen to get it to update status for charging SOC. COMPARED TO THE TESLA app its awful. I charge a lot with solar and due to the limitations of method of...
  18. Lane Keeping (or Lane Centering) automatically engages with Cruise Control?

I too can't stand the "feature". The lane center seems to favor the center line much more than my liking. I checked for the possibility of defaulting this to off / disabled with FORscan, but no joy. Anyone know of any digital address to defeat this? (2025 Lariat trim - ER ) Gotta wonder why...
  19. AZ Camping and Towing Experience- Gilbert to Sedona

Very nice write up. Welcome to the forum. (I haven't been here long myself) About what speed did you travel towing? My Lightning does not have max tow and I have only pulled a 20 Ft tilt bed trailer with it a few times, which it does very well. Did you have to use a weight distribution hitch...
  20. 1950 F-1 and 2023 F-150 Lightning hanging out

Too cool for school! I'm going to have to get a can of prank juice also. :-)
