  1. Charging time 90 to 100 and Departure

I think that wasted energy idea "spills" over from FLA days (Flooded Lead Acid). On an "equalize" charge, an amount of heat is released from certain cells while other not fully charged cells are brought up to 100%. Imagine if electric cars still had lead acid technology. Likely this forum...
  2. Charging time 90 to 100 and Departure

Sure enough, I can do 5% adjustments above 80% on Android. Yes, I do see the progress indicator near the "eyelid" of the app. I learn something every day on this forum! Thank You
  3. Charging time 90 to 100 and Departure

Curious if you are on iPhone or Android as my Android will only allow 10% SOC adjustments. When I attempt a "5%" on the 'slide' in the Android app, it jumps to 10% increments only. I know this sounds picky, and like who would need this, but I charge on solar power and to manage this with the...
  4. Charging time 90 to 100 and Departure

Unsure why Ford will not let us Lightning owners set our desired SOC to a specific percentage such as 55%, 99% etc. I also would like to know if a few times per year to charge to 100% is beneficial in any meaningful way for the battery health. I have never charged to 100% yet on the 2025 ER...
  5. Ford App Non-Responsive

In general, the Ford app works poorly, lacks common sense features and can't be depended on. I have to frequently close the app, then reopen to get it to update status for charging SOC. COMPARED TO THE TESLA app its awful. I charge a lot with solar and due to the limitations of method of...
  6. Lane Keeping (or Lane Centering) automatically engages with Cruise Control?

I too can't stand the "feature". The lane center seems to favor the center line much more than my liking. I checked for the possibility of defaulting this to off / disabled with FORscan, but no joy. Anyone know of any digital address to defeat this? (2025 Lariat trim - ER ) Gotta wonder why...
  7. AZ Camping and Towing Experience- Gilbert to Sedona

Very nice write up. Welcome to the forum. (I haven't been here long myself) About what speed did you travel towing? My Lightning does not have max tow and I have only pulled a 20 Ft tilt bed trailer with it a few times, which it does very well. Did you have to use a weight distribution hitch...
  8. 1950 F-1 and 2023 F-150 Lightning hanging out

Too cool for school! I'm going to have to get a can of prank juice also. :-)
  9. Anybody use the Curt Echo brake controller?

Yikes, I assume you "remembered" before driving away(?). I though of this same issue with mine and haven't figured out the permanent discipline "solution" just yet but I like the yellow tape. Perhaps expand on that idea with a "remove before flight" type ribbon attachment. Only this time, it...
  10. Anybody use the Curt Echo brake controller?

Just picked one of these (Curt 51180) up for a 2025 Lightning with Lariot Trim and it works very well. Thanks to all for the suggesting this unit. All things considered, this was the best solution for my situation.
  11. Look what I left on my Truck

I salute you for being a smooth and efficient driver. Not many would see a cup on the cover after that trip, rather we would ask see yet another piece of trash on the side of the road. Keep up the good work!
  12. I put solar panels on my tonneau cover!

Any concerns that the adhesive would let loose and put one of those panels in a Lane of traffic? I'd suggest periodic inspections to assure they stay put.
  13. I put solar panels on my tonneau cover!

What do you have invested in this project? Interesting.
  14. "EVs require less maintenance" … oh really … : )

Results are hard to argue with. Thank You for sharing that. Not many have that history to reference.
  15. F-150 Lightning | Trash Dumpster Mod

For several decades in a service truck / SUV, I'd find just the right size trash can and have it behind the passenger seat. I simple reach from the drivers seat did the trick even while driving, and I got in the habbit of emptying it each fuel stop as it was on the same side as the filler...
  16. Phone As A Key VERY Unreliable!

Our 25 Lariot Trim does the same annoying thing, delays including releasing of the tailgate and start-up. Samsung S24 Ultra in use here. The wife's iPhone 16 ProMax does same thing.
  17. Thoughts from First Lightning Road Trip

Very nice! Will use. Thank you
  18. Caravan Road Trip: Mach-E & Lightning from Northern AZ to LA

Does the Lightning have a bed / tonneau cover? (Always an interesting topic if they help efficiency or not).
  19. In the event of a battery fire, what is the fastest, easiest way to drag the truck out of the garage?

We have 2 EVs in our garage, and sleep just fine. A quick search shows EVs less likely to catch fire than ICE. Charging at night in a garage could potentially be as much or more risk than a rouge thermal runaway on the main battery. The search pointed out that after any collision damage it...
  20. Good news - More Rivian chargers opened up to non-Rivian vehicles

New to EVs. Have the Lightning and a Tesla 3. Also notice your call sign. W8VFR here :) Always glad to hear more charging network available. So you have photos of the ham rig in your Lightning?
