Using the intermittent timer, can you plug it and the heater into the frunk but have your main load be on the bed inverter? Or do they both need to be on the same inverter to keep it from timing out?
So when tent camping with my truck, we only use phone chargers, and an electric blanket overnight. It’s not enough to keep the inverter running and it will power off even though it’s set to run till it hits 15%. I have the option set to run while the truck is off. Can you disable it shutting...
Would be cool if the guy who is doing the generator bed conversion implemented a version for a battery pack as well. Even better, make a kit to use a junkyard Leaf battery or something.
I asked chat gpt to analyze my typical driving over a years time with my old raptor vs my lightning as I was curious what my time waiting for charging vs going to a gas station…
I declined the bid, and the installer emailed me and asked why. I told him the "permit fee" seemed excessive. He replied:
"You're right Lance. I agree with you.
But it's actually much cheaper than CA where my other office is. The thing is that is not only the permit fee. It's everything...
So my Lightning charger plugs into a 50 amp 4 prong RV outlet in my garage. Couldn't I install a breaker interlock for the houses main breaker, and make a double ended male cable to go from the 30 amp end from the Lightning bed to the 50amp RV outlet in my garage, and backfeed my house that way...
Raced my brother in law in his 2024 Raptor R on Saturday. I had 5 people in my truck and a mountain bike in the back. Smoked him pretty good. His comment was "holy $hit that thing gets some serious torque steer!" LOL
Pretty much same. I miss the Raptor in some ways, but very happy with the Lightning. It's a great truck so far. Even my MTB buddies who make fun of the Lightning are jealous of the frunk. LOL
Sure you can make one *look* like a Raptor, but it'll never perform like one offroad. Washboard dirt roads are one thing, actual hard core offroad is a whole different animal. Take it from a guy with 9 Baja 1000 class wins.
So I've only had this truck for a couple of weeks now, and have about 1,700 miles on it. I traded in a 2023 Raptor (37 package) and I had a Gen 2 Raptor before that, and I had a Gen 1 Raptor before that. I'm an avid mountain biker and ride 5 or 6 days a week, and it always involves driving off...
