Another epiphany:
There was a story in our local news today of a guy getting caught siphoning gasoline out of another person's car at a store downtown. This was a rampant issue during the fuel crisis of '08 and again a few years back during COVID.
Guess we don't have to worry about that...
Does "Slippery" mode reduce the amount of regenerative braking? I hope so, because I don't think "Normal" mode is going to work for me when the snow and ice comes.
Where I live, you have to be very meticulous with throttle and brake inputs to safely navigate rural roads in winter. LAST thing...
Easy to see why it is that heated seats usually don't last forever. All the flexing cycles from having human butts in and out of the seat all the time eventually breaks one of those elements and then it disables the entire grid.
Cool pics bro!
Not the same thing at all. One is moisture on the inside of the glass. The other is ice on the outside of the glass. Also, frost happens even above 0C/32F.
What I want to do is simply defog the windshield, which requires dry air. In other words, compressor should be on. Doesn't matter at...
I'm not trying to defrost (yet). I need to defog. "Auto" mode in every other vehicle I've owned over the last 30 years would automatically take care of that by using the compressor when necessary. This truck does not seem to do that. It's odd.
I did go to the climate screen and heat was...
OK this thread is going off the rails. We've established that the heat pump setup doesn't heat as well, and that many owners have complained about it. Then immediately the convo turns to how the heat pump setup is more efficient and makes heat better. So which is it?
I can tell you which it...
Only 42F here this morning...not even cold yet. But with the truck on "Auto" and temp set to 74F it still never got warm. Also, the windshield gets foggy.
So two questions:
Why do I have to crank the temp up so high to get warmth in the cabin? ALL my prior trucks I would set to 68-70F and...
So I did some more research and apparently the chargers I went to ARE the newest version, but they are apparently set up to allow Tesla vehicles only. Bummer.
I attempted to charge at the new V4 Supercharger location in Frankfort, Kentucky near I-64 and it was not compatible with my '25 Lightning. Bummer. I kept getting a message on my dash that said "charging paused" and my app showed the same. Would not allow me to start charging.
So I suppose...
All the published specs show it at 9.61:1. But I'm not sure I follow you on the heat thing. What does engine heat have to do with axle gear temperature? I would venture to say that the electric motor gear oil will get hotter than the differential on an ICE because the case is also housing...
No I just knew they were installed there because I pass them to and from work every day. The adapter fit just fine but the truck wouldn't start charging. I guess even though they are a new installation, they must be an older style of Tesla Supercharger.
So, that means I have to drive at least...
That was pretty common back in 2022 and 2023. I leased a 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie and it was missing the 400 watt inverter and a couple other things due to "chip shortage". It was frustrating because the credit they allowed for those things was no where remotely close to covering the cost of...
We've got a batch of Tesla public chargers that were just installed this year. I assumed they would charge my Lightning, but they will not. I had to Google it. Found out that apparently there are multiple "versions" of Tesla chargers and only some V3 and all V4 sites are compatible with the...
The truck may be just as fast as before, but the best way I'd describe it is that it requires more throttle input to get the same amount of power. It feels like the pedal has been detuned just a little.
For me it's not a problem, just a curiosity. I don't drive mine hard all the time any way.
Well that's a bummer!!
As far as the trailer wiring it works 100% fine on this truck and on every other truck in terms of lights, etc. So don't know why it would be tripping the alarm on the truck. Oh well...
When I hook the trailer to my truck the truck automatically goes into tow haul mode. But then if I shut the truck off and turn it back on again it doesn't stay in tow haul mode it defaults to normal. Why is that?
Also I'm noticing that I get frequent messages that the trailer has been...
