Yeah what's interesting is that these Goodforayear Territory HT tires that came on mine are listed at 40 lbs. each. That's EXTREMELY light for a 33" truck tire. Which begs the question: how tough can this tire really be? Traditionally, OE tires are flimsy and weak to keep the weight down...
Just my experience with all the bed covers over the years:
Soft folding: Works OK, but the release mechanisms are usually the two handles on either side and those are a PITA. Also, can easily be sliced with a knife and opened in 2 seconds by theives.
Soft rollup: Works OK, but seems like...
So since buying my Lightning, I've started to see this term passed around a lot: "EV tires".
So, I did what any red blooded American would do. I put that term into Google.
"EV tires differ from regular tires by having a design that handles an EV's extra weight from large batteries...
Agree. Anybody who pulls into a residential garage at the end of the day and connects the charger appreciates the front fender placement too. I don't know that passenger side would be better, but front placement is definitely far better.
Well, one good thing about the T3 being delayed until 2028 is that people who are buying the Lightning right now before the tax credit ends will be in be better financial position on them, because the values should hold slightly better over the next 3 years. If T3 was going to debut in 2026...
I think the F-150 Lightning has sold well compared to competitors because:
- F-150 in general is the #1 seller
- F-150 Lightning is almost identical to a traditional pickup
- F-150 Lightning pricing is lowest
I have never understood why automakers feel like their EVs have to look wild and...
Right, which was sort of my point. The inexpensive plans don't really cover much that isn't already covered, and the ones that would get very pricey.
I honestly think that these Ford plans are better investments when buying used, because in that case the warranty begins at date of used...
Funny how people assume EVs are cleaner because they aren't putting the fossil fuel nozzle into their vehicle directly, forgetting all along that they're still putting fossil fuels into their vehicle.
Anyhow, I drive a lot of hilly, curvy roads here in Kentucky. And while the regenerative...
I leased mine for 4/40k. I have ZERO intention of having this truck when warranty expires due to the extreme cost of battery packs and/or modules, electric motor units, AC to DC converter, the overly complex HVAC system, etc. Severe failures of a truck like this could destroy a man's savings...
I've had all the trucks from all the brands and this Flash interior is easily a 4 out of 5. Maybe 4.5 out of 5. I really don't know what that guy is comparing to, but the Lightning interior isn't bad at all.
Now, those exterior mirrors..... I used the "Fisher Price" analogy on those myself...
Do you remember what the offset is on those wheels? I have a brand new set of 295/70R18 tires in my barn that I'm itching to put on the Lightning, but I suspect that I'll need wheels that are very close to OE offset specs to prevent rubbing.
Very interesting. You can clearly see that the "fence riders" bought/leased a lot of Lightnings when they heard that the tax credit was going away. Still, EVs are down this year vs. last year and ICE F-Series still outsells EV nearly 30 to 1 (there are myriad reasons for this). In fact, EVs...
Got mine installed yesterday. Two electricians were here for three and a half hours putting it in. It works fantastic and charges my truck at between 10 and 11 KW. I really like it.
Didn't take the wife long to pile stuff up around it though! 🙄😅
Interesting. Well after a call to Customer Service they are getting me the correct ones and they're just going to do an even exchange since the price is the same between the two.
I used my Ford Pass points to order splash guards for my truck. Now they're saying the ones I ordered will not work on the Lightning trucks.....ICE F-150 only. Is that right? Why would the body panels be different so that unique splash guards are required?
Not true. Where I live, 97% of our electricity historically has come from coal. The percentage is shrinking slowly, mostly due to government regulation (which is also driving costs up and hurting the middle class but that's another story for another tiime) but it's still far more than "just...
Well, if you're just commuting in a car 300 miles would be sufficient. But most EV cars can't go that far, can they?
And we are pickup truck guys, and as such we're usually hauling or towing. The only reason I have to drive on a long trip is if my family is going camping, in which case we'd...
They managed to ruin two hallowed nameplates on that car. Mustang and Mach. I have no idea what they were thinking. Probe would have been the PERFECT name for that new EV car.
