Not sure about Ford leaving TSLA in the dust but eventually TSLA will get tired of making cars. Ford will never get tired of making cars. TSLA survives by every couple of years dipping into the market for another $5 Billion stock sale. People forget this. Eventually that will come to a stop...
To be specific the issue is charger spacing. No more than 20-25 miles apart, 10-15 miles apart would be ideal for the general public. 5-10-20 options between charge cycles very closely matches ICE. Here in Kansas there is a 55 mile stretch of no gas stations. Folks get stranded there all the...
I charge at 32 amp. I find the wiring in the outlet stays a lot tighter long term at 32 amp. Just did my annual tightening of all my EVSE connections. The 40 amp outlets needed at least 3/4 turn tightening for both hot leads. The 32 amp lest than 1/8 turn. This is just annual inspection mind...
Glad you got through. First time is always rough, second time you have feel for how things are going and stress is less. Definitely planning needed right now. They claim a doubling of charge network in 3-5 years. Till them planning needed.
Always check the flags to see which way wind is...
Mine just got this and it seems to have messed up bunch of things in my truck.
Things not working
- Blue tooth audio
- Navigation screen no longer tracks vehicle
- Vehicle settings has disappear.
- A bunch of settings gone again.
- Ford pass app keeps blinking now
Tried all kinda things to...
I can say for sure that Audi Etron number does not look right IME. Its more than 8% for sure. Neither does the Mach-E number. Just did 220 miles of 4f highway driving from 98% and still had 16% SoC left. Would be curious to see the assumptions behind Recurrent Auto estimates.
Personally I...
Not to be flip and noting many excellent comments....
An engineer looking at the Guess-O-Meter.
Stick to hard numbers. MPK (miles per kwh) and SoC. Calm screen has been recommended.
Do the calculations in your head and none of this white knuckle is needed.
Also before taking family...
I have always put a little WD-40 on the gasket/seal of all my EV's and for that matter my ICE vehicles, right before winter hits. Reduces the the sticking issue to the very worst conditions. My lightning was parked outside on Sunday in 10f and freezing rain, admittedly not very heavy, but no...
To be honest I think a lot of it has to do with the pi$$ poor lane markings in my neck of the woods. But I have had issues from Indiana to Texas most highways at particular speeds.
There is a slight ping-pong resonance that builds esp. in low light around 70 mph that I have noticed. Once I drop...
It does how ever make quite bit of difference with blue cruise. It operates much smoother under 68 mph. You are going to have to experiment a bit to see the ideal sweetspot for blue cruise if you choose to use it.
My best mileage is actually without cruise control so I can neutral coast down...
Sure you have thought about this but the only thing that bothers me is the cable dragging on the ground. Long term this can become an issue. I would try to hang it up so it become even easier.
But otherwise nice set up looking good.
In my neck of the woods almost everyone knows what it is. Often times I come out of the store at there is someone taking a picture. Tons of people want one for sure..... ...not had any issues and I travel to the more colorful parts of small town America....
Only time I got coal rolled was in...
When the price of gas was above $4 and near $5 in my area the driving got noticeable better. Esp. the Semi-Trucks, the awful White Vans and the tow trucks (worst offenders) all slowed down. The public slowed down as well.
I'm actually hoping price of gas goes up :devilish:.
My wife drove the...
Why donāt you flip to a Trip B to track long term mpk. Mine is an extremely stable 2.4 right now on about 11,000 miles. hasn't moved in months. Should decline in winter to 2.2 or so but snap back in spring.
I think the āthis tripā bounce around is not helping your thought process. Ignore GoM or...
Rav4 EV from 2001 to 2009. Shame really about Toyota, despite the NMC it was a good EV. loved it.
Tried so hard to get a EV1 . Came within a whisker too, flights booked, cash in hand, etc. Essentially stealing on from a seller going out of country but it fell thru...
While it is possible to end up with 50% of summer range this is not my experience at all the majority of the time. Maybe a couple of times in the last 20 years or so of driving EV's. Both times got caught in 50 mph headwind snow drifts. terrible weather. Last winter in -12f Mach-E ER ~ 220...
I donāt think its off. It is more conservative at the high end down to about 80 miles of range or so and then it gets more and more accurate and firm close to the actual miles driven. Its one of the better ones out there, much better than the one we all like to make fun off. ?
Looks normal to me. The 56f will do that.
These posts come every fall for every EV.
The next post will be, "My brakes are making a grinding noise and clunking, something is broken."
Both posts will end in March April. Every EV forum, without fail....
Definitely take it to large knowledgeable Ford dealer. It is 4 years and I still take my Etron to AUDI dealer for service. Despite the high cost.
While dealerships outsource some of the grunt work a lot of the final testing, alignment and verification needs very custom tools on EV's which often...
Sorry to see this, glad all walked away. That looks violent, well over 30 mph collision looks like.
The nice thing is Lightning shares a ton of components with the ICE F-150 so parts should be readily available. I see this getting fixed. Other than the B pillar the main crumple zone/box is...
