I have had cases in the past that dealer (not Ford) refused to cover something that was clearly a warranty issue. Not sure just because it was inconvenient for them to deal with manufacturer or because they could charge me more. That is why my satisfaction with any car is inversely related to...
It seems like dealers charge like doctors do. $900 for Ford but $1500 for the customer is messed up.
This is obviously a design flaw and should be covered after warranty. The sad thing is that, the new part is the same as the old one and is likely to break again.
The point is not if they exist on the road. Proportion of 2010 EVs on the road to total EVs on the road vs proportion of 2010 ICE vehicles on the road to total ICE is in question.
Those studies normalize by miles traveled but not by age. A study in 22 shows correlation with age (pg 7-8). I assume most of the vehicles in study were ICE but if the same holds true for BEV, we should see our % fire go up as we have more older BEVs on the road. That probably would drop back...
The only reason I posted that is that @mr.Magoo said fires happen to those that worry the most so I thought if I can make everyone else worry more, I can reduce the chance of my truck catching on fire ;)
Numbers don't always tell the full story. There is a good chance out of a 100,000 EVs a higher percentage is newer since each year more is sold than last. 100,000 ICE vehicle in this stats are more likely have a higher mix of older ICE. If the age of the vehicle increases the fire risk...
I have no ill will against Tesla independently. Their engineers have done a lot of great work. But as an extension of Musk, any revenue generating company is dangerous.
I am sure with Lightning out of business some people would jump on discounted CT but it would be like getting drunk, getting a tattoo of some unnamed CEOs privates on your forehead and next day wondering why everyone is laughing at you.
If I had to guess, I would say he means a more efficient car adds mileage/range faster at the same charging rate. So you spend less time waiting to cover the same distance.
I have a hard time believing that would be your answer if someone had a gun to your head. My question was not Lightning Vs Maverick EV. I was basically asking if repair-ability, lower cost of ownership and mostly dealer free purchase and ownership experience is more important to you or higher...
Not knowing the price for specs, with what we know so far, if someone put a gun to your head and forced you to choose between this and slate, which one would you pick?
I pay $18c/Kw, cold winter days spend 7 Kwh/day keeping the battery warm, I mostly charge at home and also use the free chargers at public locations I visit so my overall energy cost is still lower than the wife’s Subaru but I did find a reason to pay for gas on a recent trip. For my specific...
Keep in mind that was when Tax incentives were still in play. I was a reservation holder for R1 and when it came time to release they realized losses per vehicle were too much and they raised the price. Then the backlash forced them to eat the extra loss. I am sure they are better at everything...
I really want Rivian to succeed. We need more EVs with software that works. However I am really curious if they could not make R1 profitable, how will they make R2 at $45K profitable. Especially without a high production plant ready to go. Rivian has been following Tesla footsteps and Tesla...
