  1. Trailer brake not working

Jumping in here late, but I too had this issue. Turns out, the batteries on my airstream were not producing enough amps and needed to be replaced. Issue solved.
  2. Towing an Airstream with Gen14, and ProPower 7.2

    Thanks for sharing this.
  3. Limited Lightning Tow Range

This ??? Tesla owners have a ton to add to this discussion, because we've been the early adopters of long range ev (aka "guinea pigs"). While the Lightning is going to be a great fleet vehicle, it's not a tow vehicle. Not yet, at least. It looks cool with an airstream behind it, doesn't...
  4. Limited Lightning Tow Range

Some day... The pull through charging stations are what we really need to be able to effectively tow with an EV, and we need a lot of them because the range is so limited. It's a chicken and the egg scenario with the current battery technology. Bigger batteries = more weight = less payload.
  5. ? Studio pics of the F-150 Lightning Electric Pickup

Tesla has shown what a reliable charging infrastructure network looks like, and how it all but eliminates range anxiety for new adopters. Once the infrastructure bill passes and is funded, you're still looking at a 5 year build out, minimum, but it will eventually happen. The only thing...
  6. OTA Update - anyone received one yet?

Kirk, How do you end up with 336 alerts on your Ford Pass account?
  7. F-150 Lightning = Confirmed Name of the F-150 Electric Pickup!

I'll take one in Lightning Blue with black accents and a Stanley Cup, please.
  8. Frustrated With Tonneau Search...Perfect Tonneau?

I received a "Rev Industries" tonneau as part of my factory package. It took a little research, but I found that it was manufactured by "Truck Hero", so it's a BakFlip by any other name. https://truck-hero.com/bakflip-mx4-truck-bed-cover I'm overall very happy with it, and it's kept 95%+ of the...
  9. Headlight Protection Film

We have these nasty insects in Florida called "love bugs". Their body contains an incredibly acidic chemical, which when it gets on your car, can damage the paint or plastic within a day, if you're not careful. To make matters worse, they love to swarm over asphalt, which most of our roads...
  10. Headlight Protection Film

Something told me that you had done this. Just ordered one from your link, and it's on sale. Now to take care of the headlight film...
  11. Towing an Airstream with Gen14, and ProPower 7.2

You've hit the nail on the head. It's all a matter of what matters to the driver. Ford certainly provides us with a ton of optioning. Are you planning on your F150 being primarily a tow vehicle? Then you can option it as such. Doubling up duty as a daily driver? You've got choices. The...
  12. Towing an Airstream with Gen14, and ProPower 7.2

I can't recall who posted, but I can tell you that it will not automatically lock out 9 and 10 in tow/haul mode. We had a 700 mile rt a few weeks back, and the truck stayed primarily in 9th, unless a long(ish) downhill when it would rise to 10th with slight depressing of the accelerator...
  13. Towing an Airstream with Gen14, and ProPower 7.2

The hybrid electric motor definitely runs while towing in tow/haul mode. One of the forum members has recommended locking out 9th and 10th gear so that you're not continually spooling up the turbos, something which I'm going to try on the next trip. Honestly, if you're worried about range and...
  14. Towing an Airstream with Gen14, and ProPower 7.2

David, Some of the early builds had issues with the heated mirrors and trailer module, which required you to go to the dealer and allow them to install a firmware update or "flash". You'll know if you need one if there's an alert on your Ford Pass app. There is supposed to be a second, OTA...
  15. Towing an Airstream with Gen14, and ProPower 7.2

My AS is a 23' Front Bed (FB). If I recall correctly, the tongue weight is about 500 lbs. WIth the weight distribution hitch and bars, it tows like a champ. I haven't had it on the scales yet. But when I do, I'll report back. May not be for a few months.
  16. Towing an Airstream with Gen14, and ProPower 7.2

My payload is 1219, which is a bit low, but I have the FX4 package, spray in bed liner and factory tonneau. Powerboost, Platinum.
  17. Finally a video explaining 2021 F150 Pro Backup Assist + vehicle and trailer setup

It's not available yet. Word from Ford is that the update is required to make the ProBack Up work with Sync4, the update will need to be installed. We're all kind of just waiting on this one, and learning how to back up the "old fashioned way".
  18. Towing an Airstream with Gen14, and ProPower 7.2

    Congratulations!!!!!!
