I accidentally hit the top of my taillight very lightly with a wrench and a dime sized piece chipped out. My fault obviously but I was really surprised at how delicate the plastic is.
Chiming in here also to say I have the same problem, very annoying and inconsistent. I'm a contractor so I'm very frequently on my phone in my truck throughout the day. Hoping for a solution soon...
No company is perfect and Ford has had its missteps with the Lightning for sure but my overall experience has been fantastic. Ford making this move with doubling charging access in 6 months is a game changer. If they give us that added capability for free {which it looks like they will} then...
Yep I listened again and he definitely implied that "all" existing customers would get an adapter, I would buy one for a few hundred but free is better!
It would be great if they offered an option of an adapter with an extra 12' of cable, I can totally see myself throwing it in the under-frunk for road trips.
I got all 4 of mine done after a slight battle with the service desk, they said the tech could only hear the noise from the rear wheels. The difference is really noticable for me, I didn't really realize that I was hearing the noise most of the time but with it gone the truck "feels" smoother...
Just adding another data point. My SR XLT has hit 170kw+very briefly at EA 350 stations. It usually pulls over 100kw consistently to 80%. It sounds like your truck is not functioning 100% correctly OP
I agree with everything you've said there. My concern was that my dealer said there were "loose bolts from the factory" if that is true(personally I don't think it is) but if it is that's a potential safety issue that should be addressed ASAP.
It's quite loud on mine and would be heard over idling engine noise, It's also an unusual sound, it's obviously not normal. The fact that my dealer said it was "loose bolts" after a week of "diagnostics" :) then tightened them only for the sound to remain points to a bigger issue imo...
SO they had my truck for a week. I picked it up and got home yesterday(8 miles) and the click was back! They said they found "loose bolts from the factory" and replaced them and torqued them correctly. The sound is worse today, it's loud enough that pedestrians look over when they hear it..
Dealer has had my truck for six days, I called again today and they said they found "loose bolts, probably from the factory" 😯. I hope that's not accurate, don't think it is somehow. It will be ready today so I'll be interested in seeing the work order...
Add me to the list of clickers! My XLT does this whenever accelerating or decelerating. To me it sounds almost like when you torque down a bolt extra hard, like metal slipping on metal under high pressure. I'm going to call my dealership, hopefully they have a loaner if they take it in as I need...
Good to see a company I've dealt with before now partnering with the forum. I'm installing the Retrax Pro Mx this weekend, I bought it from you guys a few weeks ago.
