We do, but he didn't mention that. He said I could call his supervisor and ask him about it but I haven't done so yet. Don't want to poke the bear if they don't like my panel for some reason. We have a interlock kit and generator inlet that works just fine. It's just not as cool as the Generlink...
I applied for one of these and PG&E came out to do the install. The guy gets here and says, I can't install it on your panel, your panel isn't a supported panel, not sure how it was approved in the first place. We upgraded our panel 2 years ago to a 200A Square D panel. Nothing special but it is...
I did. Ours is only a 42k BTU but it requires a 40A circuit. I thought I would give it a shot anyway since itās an inverter style motor and the LRA is 28.8 but no dice. We get airflow but no real heat. When I hook it up to my big portable generator, it works just fine.
Our house heat runs on a mini-split system. Itās only a few years old and very efficient but a 30A generator isnāt enough. To be able to run that, plus the fridge and sump pumps, we needed a 50A. Most of the time, we just put on some extra sweatshirts and use the truck for everything else but...
I did a 50 amp inlet because I also have a portable generator capable of 50 amps. With more and more things becoming electrified, I wanted to do a little future proofing while I was at it. I have a 50 amp generator cord with a 30 amp adapter for the truck. It works great. https://a.co/d/9Ui4tdu...
Iāve had no issues getting updates. I did get the letter a while back but havenāt had time to visit my dealer. Just posting this to the forum so others are aware the OTA is now being pushed out.

If youāre coming from the Central Valley, I charged up in Stockton at the Wal-Mart, camped at Big Trees for a few nights and then made it back to the Wal-Mart. The ride back down 4 does wonders for the regenerative braking.
We did a whole electrical panel upgrade in 2021 to get ready for our Lightning. Last year, we were denied this ATS install because PG&E came out and said our panel isnāt an approved model to be used with PG&E. š I told them we just did the upgrade and PG&E approved the model during that process...
Iām envious of the 50Amp receptacle in the bed and the air suspension. But thatās it.
Our Lightningās 30Amp outlet is fantastic but just not enough juice to run our mini-split system.
The suspension Iāll upgrade later when suspension companies catchup.
Hopefully Ford is working on better efficiency and isn't just slapping a giant battery in it like GM. The battery pack in the Silverado EV is supposed to be 3000 lbs. and 215 kWh. I'd rather drive my Lightning and charge a little more often than drive that massive battery pack around. How long...
I don't think so. It's happened to me while stopped and in my driveway. I think it's the navigation alerts from the Sync maps. It will alert you of traffic conditions even if you don't have a route planned.
I think it's safe to say that the double chime is from navigation alerts even when I'm not using the Ford Sync maps. Over the past couple of weeks, everytime I hear the double-chime, I jump over to Sync maps and there is some sort of traffic alert on the screen.
