šæšæ Thank you @v2h8484 and @Maquis. I am not an electrician or electrical engineer and only know enough to be dangerous. I am happy to hear that you both believe the setup is safe even though it may be against code. This setup will be rarely used so I'm comfortable with a safe, non-code compliant...
Also, I just received this from their engineering team when I asked them about the configuration.
Regarding your question about grounding: your approach of removing the ground connection between the truck and your generator inlet is consistent with the guidance in our Vehicle-to-Load (V2L)...
Hey everyone, I've attached the White Paper from FranklinWH to my original post. Here are some highlights from the document.
They acknowledge the grounding issue and state that ground wire does need to be disconnected.
For the Ford F150, the NEMA 14 plug connecting to the F150 will need to...
You're welcome! I also received a white paper from Franklin about using EVs for this purpose. I just asked my contact at Franklin if I can share it publicly or not. I would imagine the answer is yes since I am only a customer to them. Once I get his go ahead, I'll post it here.
My aGate is set up to use the Lightning as a vehicle for V2L. This isnāt very different from the Generator function of the aGate. You can also use the Lightning in Generator mode, though the startup process is a little different. Both functions use the same inlet and Generator Module on the...
Itās just for emergency backup. In the summer, we have plenty of solar to charge the battery and power our household loads. But in the winter, itās the rainy season, we can lose power for several days at a time. This lets me transfer energy from the truck to the house, while still being able to...
We have a pretty standard setup. Thereās a 6 kW solar array on the roof with Enphase microinverters. The solar feeds into my Enphase combiner, which then connects to the FranklinWH aGate. On the aGate, we have a critical loads panel wired in, along with the aPower battery and the generator...
Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my success with using Pro Power and my Franklinās V2L feature. I did have to clip the ground but after that everything worked perfectly. I was able to power my home and top off my battery at the same time. Just getting the testing out of the way before winter!
Just got BC 1.4 on 1/28. MY22 and an EAP member.
So far, so good! Iāve definitely noticed less ping-pong action in the lane, but also full hands-free driving seems to be less available on my normal route. Iāll keep testing this to see if it was just a fluke or a true change. The lane change...
Yeah, I think that's exactly what it is. I had these tires on my old truck and nevery noticed it but that truck was a 2500 with a leveling kit so it was a bit taller. These are definitely living up to this feature:
Ok, one thing I will say about these tires. They are rock spitters. I have a gravel driveway and these things always pick up a rock or two and eject them once I get on the highway. I can hear the rocks bang into the battery skid plate everyday. I just ordered a set of the Ford OEM mud flaps to...
Update for you all. The truck was dropped back off today, and I read through the notes from the service department. They think itās my dash cam that caused the issue and not the update. Given how many posts there are on here after the update, I would disagree, but they said to try leaving it...
Thanks for this tip! My truck is at the dealer now and they tested the battery and said it failed so they will replace it under warranty. One weird thing, they said in my trucks log the battery has been low for a month, but I never had any symptoms before CSP-24B56. They are also going to...
Iāll jump on this thread too. Same 12V battery issues here too. After a week of commuting 100+ mile round trips, itās still the same. I can see in the notes from my visit that the battery was tested and passed before the update so I know it was good prior. Iāll make a service appointment and see...
Still the same, all the same symptoms you listed on your thread too. I need to make an appointment to take it back to the dealer to check it out. My commute is 100+ miles round trip and thatās made no difference.
I think it killed my 12v battery too! I just had the update done on Monday and all day today, after every drive, I get the shutting off to save power message and I canāt use my FordPass app. Iāll give it a few days of driving before I bring it back to the dealer.
