Standard Oil was a monopoly. All the gas companies using the same size nozzle is a standard. This only results in a monopoly if Tesla is the only charging company.

Not necessarily. One time I realized I was paying full price at the start of a substantial charging session. I ended the session, turned off P&C and started over. I connected just fine and was charged the discounted rate.

The other big problem with Blue Cruise hands-free at that price is it does not operate when towing.
