Last test I saw, no CCS vehicles other than Ford and Rivian would charge, even using the Tesla app.
Remember: this is not the case on Superchargers with MagicDocks. They will work with most other CCS vehicles.
Koons Ford/Mazda in Silver Spring has always done well for me. They have been careful and made sure both my Mach E (bought Feb. '21) and my Lightning (bought July '22) were repaired properly. Communication had been just OK but improved recently. They now offer pickup and drop-off service...
Both Tesla and Ford say v4 superchargers are compatible with NACS. In fact, many of them don't need the NACS adapter as many of the v4 installations to date have MagicDocks.
It's simple. Most charging time is L2 charging. That would mean your DC pins would be exposed to the elements the whole time you are L2 charging.
Most CCS-equipped automakers have some sort of cover for the DC pins. Ford's is actually one of the easiest to use.
Yes, that was Methorian who I know from the Mach E forum. It sounds like that station isn't working right for NACS yet.
Did you check PlugShare?
I see you didn't report your failure on Plugshare.
Motor Trend does list a slight difference in front/rear gearing (https://www.motortrend.com/news/ford-f-150-lightning-2023-truck-of-the-year/):
AXLE RATIO, F/R
9.72:1/9.61:1
Yes, there are definitely issues of Chinese government support for industries. However, the important thing is that the Chinese auto companies are working much harder on EVs and will eat our lunch if we don't get moving.
See this thread and other articles on the amazing progress of Chinese car...
Placing huge tariffs on Chinese cars is a clear sign the US automakers are way behind the 8 ball, know it, and are scared. If US automakers don't start making better, cheaper EVs they will be left behind.
If you have chosen to only go to campgrounds that have minimal facilities, I'm not surprised you haven't seen 50A sites. It isn't a question of living in a "very privileged area". It seems to me that you are making assumptions of what is and is not available based on a very limited sample. Your...
How far west? A quick google search yielded this page from AllStays showing
campgrounds and RV parks with 50A in Alberta

and this one for BC:

You are either in the wrong campgrounds or you aren't in the area with full hookups for larger RVs. We just returned from a two month trip pulling a 25' trailer behind our Lightning and charged many nights on standard 50A 240v outlets in campgrounds.
If you plan to charge in the campground...
Did you try doing a Sync screen reset?
Did you try pulling fuse # 13?
