  1. Cancelled my reservation -- getting my $100 refunded

Too long a wait. Too high a price. I'm one of those who believed Ford's teaser in their first F150L announcement that the extended range F150L would be just $10K more than the bare bones standard range. In many ways my 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac has more capability than the F150L. The 2.4...
  2. Dealers Rejecting Lightning Reservation Transfers

The ZEV thing is a ridiculous "metric". I live in Alabama, which is politically a red state. Yet of all states east of the Rockies it's #2 in hydro electricity -- the cleanest electrical production possible. Plus, I personally have a 10 kW solar system on my roof with 30 kWh of battery...
  3. So... How about them gas prices?

You make good points, though I don’t think nationwide 80% of our power comes from coal. Perhaps in some areas. I don’t have an EV yet. But I do have a large 10kW solar system on my house with 30kWh battery storage. Plus my house is now all electric. Even if I do like planned and replace my...
  4. Ford F150 Lightning 2022 Sold out

I believe that's not entirely true. Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe either reservation number or date/time you reserved is important, but that takes 2nd precedence to what dealer you chose. My reservation # may not make me Xth in line across the nation, but it might make a difference of what...
  5. Just received phone call for next wave, wave 4?

My solar is installed in a similar fashion. I have a metal roof with standing seams. However, my solar panels aren't clamped to the seams because I have too much wind. Mine are screwed through the seams (the high points of the seams). I had another roofer go behind the solar installers and...
  6. Just received phone call for next wave, wave 4?

Does the Costco Sunrun include battery storage too? And does the inverter have a zero output feature? If it doesn't have that then it's a non-starter for me to go with them if I upgrade.
  7. Just received phone call for next wave, wave 4?

That's sad that you can't put more than 10kW solar onto your house. Living here in Alabama I hear all the time that California leaders are all about green energy and such. I guess that's just talk. I've got 10 kW solar panels (10.2 technically) with a 12 kW inverter (that's the part your...
  8. Just received phone call for next wave, wave 4?

By "what I'll have to pay the electric company" are you talking about the normal charges for a lower power consumption (because you produced some of your own power), or are you including the "solar fee" a lot of power companies charge people who have solar? For example, for me the extra for the...
  9. Just received phone call for next wave, wave 4?

IMHO if we're truly worried about air pollution and cars/trucks, we need to produce our own power individually if possible. If I get an EV (I have a reservation for a F-150L) I'll almost certainly upgrade my solar system to offset the increased power consumption. The earlier poster referred to...
  10. I'm so old

Last May's tease then renege by Ford hasn't made me forever ban the plan to buy an EV truck. It just means I'll have to put it off for a while. I did the same with my solar system on my house. I waited years for the quality to improve and the prices to come down before I finally put a solar...
  11. I'm so old

I agree that you'd expect the F150L to be more than the F150 ICE. Unless you paid attention to Ford's mega press release announcing the F150L. I wouldn't be so let down if they hadn't made a big ol' honkin' deal about a 300 mile EV truck for $50K.
  12. I'm so old

IMHO it depends on demand. As long as there's a yuge waiting list for the F150L there will be a yuge price. I don't blame them. I'd do the same thing. So I have no hard feelings towards Ford. But it does change the math on when or if I'll get one. I say that as someone who'd be a first...
  13. I'm so old

I remember Ford announcing they'd offer a 300-mile EV F-150 for $50K ($40K base price 230-mile, plus $10K for extended range). Now it's $73K. Oh, well. That's too rich for me.
