So I have an almost 14 year old. I watched the presentation and then threw my 50 dollars into the ring because with the inevitable delays of all EV startups, this becomes an awesome first vehicle for him where we typically would have purchased him something used.
He wants an EV like his dad...
With both main issues (apim and charge station pro ) I called the 1-800 number and asked to speak to the bev team . I was polite . I didn't ask for anything other to get my issue fixed and when it was resolved during rhe follow up call at the end they just offered these things as a good will...
Things that broke on my launch day lariat
- Apim Module
- motorized tailgate rod exploded
- running board / step plastic has been bulging since day 1
- center speaker grill bulge- also on delivery
-charge station pro stopped working after almost three years
- steering column motor is currently...
I installed all of these updates this morning . Very quick for so many updates at just under a half hour , so you will be staying in your vehicle during the process . No issues but the updates draw a lot of amps. I attempted to the updates out of order by clicking the BECM update first which...
Ran both updates and my truck made lots of noises (none near the doors) and used a lot of juice out of the 12v quickly, but each update only took 7-8 minutes. Could have probably ran both updates wirhout the 12V charger if I knew my 12v was really at 100 percent each time .
Both cleared FDRS...
I have that 10 amp charger - I run two of them at the same time in power supply mode and I can get through most updates . Also , I bet your battery is fine , I've run mine down to nothing where the truck starts making crazy noises and it's always ended up fine.
Why do I have 2 ? Because...
Has anyone been able to definitively say if the Beosonic change actually does anything ?
I noticed if I double tap on the beosonic circle, the audio is muted for a half second and does appear to sound different. If I just move my finger around the circle, I don't notice a change . You guys...
I also had an Issue where my APIM module had to be replaced in 2023 because wireless CarPlay didn't work and they gave me a free 2 year or 36,000 miles (so 72,000 miles with the factory warranty) extended warranty on the truck . Again, without even asking for it or complaining. Was just offered...
And just one more update -- The representative gave me 40,000 ford pass points as a goodwill gesture out of nowhere. I didn't ask for anything extra, she just did it. The Ford BEV team is awesome.
I was going to post here last night that I was really surprised that I followed @Mike G 's instructions for the IPMA update and had absolutely no issues while everyone else was messed up. It made no sense. My wife won't let me disable my seatbelt reminder, so im going to let her know that she...
Update - Swapped out charge station pro with the one o received under warranty today (in the bitter cold) . This is what makes me a Ford driver for life .
Update : Ford is shipping me a new FCSP for
free . With the holidays everything is taking a bit longer , but my representative got back to me today with that information . Thanks to Ford phone support and more importantly the awesome ford employees on this forum. . *Gimme my FCSP* .
Can anyone tell me what kind of screws are in the charging handle / coupler? I thought they were torx tamper resistant 10 but looks like I was wrong. Not the torx 20 in the charger station . The actual handle/coupler . Think of it as your holiday gift to a stranger.
Just throwing this out there that I had all of the exact same issues @Mike G did with that particular update. I followed all of his directions here to get the update to clear. Maybe 2022 lightning specific if the IPMA update cleared for you @rugedraw without these issues.
A real world scenario for me is that my electricity has a peak / off peak / and super off peak tier . I need to charge starting at midnight and then leave for work at 6:00am ( which is also when the tier changes ) So I'm close to 80,000 miles since June 2022 so I regularly come home to 20% SOC...
