This sounds like an "oh sh_t" response from Ford senior management. They realize the AI train has left the station, and they are not on it.
Out of curiosity, has anyone on this forum been asked what they need or want Ford AI to deliver for them?
Me neither.
Thank you for the prompt response, Brian.
You have more pull with Ford than we do. Or, do you? My experience shows that companies which don't respond to their customers, don't respond to their employees.
Integrity, trust and customer service are built upon the small, but important, details...
All this hype and promises from @Ford Motor Company, who still can't even display the 12 volt SOC, which is already calculated onboard the vehicle. All they have to do is write the code to display the known information to the driver. Maybe they can use AI to write that code for them.
My first...
Regarding ... "On Saturday (1/3), I was driving down the road at 45 miles an hour. No warning, no issues, nothing in my Ford app. I get 28 different warnings (Powertrain failure being one of them) that pop up and the truck just dies like a total brick in the middle of the road. I lose power...
@Ford Motor Company,
Thank you very much for promptly acknowledging my post.
Regarding this formula ... think of the CS improvement that Ford can realize with a D of 12 volt battery SOC display to us owners, who have repeatedly asked for it for the past 3-1/2 years. (Note, the E is a constant...
Nice analysis and presentation!
Which monitor and data app do you use?
It looks like the trigger point for the HV battery to charge the LV battery is 40% SOC, which I believe is the original trigger point. Have you had the 12 volt BMS replacement completed? I expected the new BMS would have had...
Figure 1 does not show that the trailer has its own 12 volt auxiliary battery and low voltage system.
So, it relies on the one in the truck? :facepalm:
But, Figure 2 shows the trailer has its own Navigation system. 😂
Figure 1 also shows the truck has an engine and transmission. Notably, not an...
@Ford Motor Company and its Engineers,
A formula for Customer Satisfaction: CS = D/E
CS is Customer Satisfaction, D is Delivered, E is Expected
<1 is Dissatisfied
1 is Satisfied
>1 is Delighted
Aim for Delighted and you will thrive.
I think you are correct about the Lightning coming back in the future ... in an even better form. I believe the EV market share of vehicles will continue to grow with charging infrastructure and battery improvements and cost reductions. The Ford EREV truck was not on the schedule 4 years ago...
As much as I would like to blame the dealerships for delay in evaluating and repairing our vehicles, I must put the blame on @Ford Motor Company for the poor design and manufacturing quality, which has resulted in a massive number of recalled vehicles.
What I do blame the dealerships for is...
I understand that the generator would start at a mid-level SOC to add kW to the HV battery and extend range. But, I can also envision in a heavy towing situation where the HV battery, even with generator input, could drop to its minimum allowable SOC. At that point, the vehicle will either stop...
I honestly don’t understand the “importance” of how the ICE is “connected” to the wheels. The ICE is physically connected to the generator, and is the only source of power to drive the generator. Whether the generator output flows through the HV battery, or somehow bypasses the HV battery, when...
Reminds me of something my Dad, who grew up on a subsistence farm with no electricity, said ... "Every boy needs a pocket knife, pencil, piece of paper, and piece of string in his pocket."
Out of everything in the Bronco New Energy article, this is what I find most interesting ...
"the Bronco New Energy is available in EREV or BEV form."
Now, THAT would seem to make the most sense for an @Ford Motor Company North American electrified truck line!
@Ford Motor Company
Are you paying attention to this group of Ford F-150 Lightning owners, who are the most likely buyers of future electrified Ford trucks?
