Distributing “flood buckets” across the Texas Hill Country
and mucking out a flooded house. Truck charged all teams batteries throughout the day and kept drinks and wet towels ice cold in my fridge all day.
Had to rent a 6x12 U-Haul to transport furniture from Georgia to Texas. Man, that trailer was like pulling a parachute on the interstates. Only got 1.3-1.4 mi/kwhr at 70 mph.
A professor in Economics once reminded me that prior to the Industrial Revolution we stole any IP we could from Europe. Farm equipment, machines, etc. It was only after we had established our own IP base that we started adding IP laws and protections. China did that same thing we did, only...
I posted this a while back, but maybe the same issue?
My 2023 Lariat has been flawless for 2 years and 35,000 miles, but last week I noticed Bluecruise stopped working. After checking all my settings, and getting passed from Customer Service, to Connected Services, and finally to Technical...
I’ve used them multiple times at that Bucees. One time it was 26 degrees at 630 am and the v4 started off at 170kw but after a few minutes derated to 24kw. it took my 4 chargers to get to 60% as they all did the same thing. Have been back a couple more times and they worked fine. I use...
yes you can. But for some reason I approached every V4 from the back side and it made it trickey to reroute the cable around the back when I had pulled my truck up close. I’ll get it right some day.?
2 years and 4, 3000 mile road trips, and a couple towing trips to the gulf coast. 38000 miles and the only problem I’ve had was it lost Blue Cruise due to a problem updating a module. Dealer fixed it no problem. I am on my 2Pnc set of tires due to a sidewall puncture from driving on gravel...
I’ve done several 3000 road trips and now from Austin to SC. With the Tesla network open, my fastest way is to arrive at about 10% and charge to 60-70%, then drive 2.5 hours or so to the next charger and repeat. This keeps you in the sweet spot of the charging curve and barely gives you time...
Just got my truck back and they could not update the module per the TSB 24-2251 at first. But they went with TSB 23-2122 and were able to find a previous download that had not completed so once that was taken care of they proceeded with updating BlueCruise per the 24-2251. they also found...
My 2023 Lariat has been flawless for 2 years and 35,000 miles, but last week I noticed Bluecruise stopped working. After checking all my settings, and getting passed from Customer Service, to Connected Services, and finally to Technical Services they finally decided I had this issue. I have an...
I make the mistake of opening my door while in Drive mode at my mailbox often and it always moves to Park immediately. Glad my truck watches out for me.
Thank you for the write up. I did a 3000 mile round trip after Christmas from Austin to Charleston but this time I stuck with Tesla almost 100%. However I did see an unexpected derating like you did, The first time was in Auburn Al at the Buc-Ee’s. Plugged in and started off at 170kw as...
I hear ya, I did find the NACS adaptor make a huge difference in my charging stops. ABRP had me only charging for 20 min or so to stay in the sweet spot of the charging curve, and move on to the next Supercharger 120-140 miles up the road, only to do it again. Granted, in my younger...
I had a 1973 VW Rabbit diesel and used a book to tell me where the truck stops were. You can imagine me pulling between tractor trailor rigs in my little Rabbit to fill up. Was quite the adventure in the 70’s . Geez, EV charging is a breeze compared to that!
Blue Cruise is great if you are doing long distances on Interstates, but for typical road driving it’s not useful. $500 annual fee is too pricy for occasional needs.
Texas charges $200. I just got mine renewed this month. Its nice not having to take the truck in for inspection, but ICE vehicles don’t have to do that anymore either in Texas. Just some counties still require emissions testing.
Always use the Tesla app to make sure the destination charger will work with your non-tesla. I wrongly assumed all destination chargers work for my truck, but learned the hard way that some are not compatible with my truck.
