  1. Tonneau covers - Flip vs Roll vs Retrax

I received the parts and have to admit I only installed the trim piece. The cover works just fine otherwise and I donā€™t baby it, so it hasnā€™t been an issue. Overall Iā€™m pretty happy with the roll up cover. The box in the back of the bed has been annoying on a few occasions and I had a 2x4 smack...
  2. 12 inch infotainment screen going dark

Same thing for mine. Just started 2 weeks ago, now it does it every trip. Randomly goes black. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes it doesnā€™t. Restarting the vehicle always gets it running again.
  3. First Ford BlueCruise hands-free driving reviews are here!

I was excited to sign up for Bluecruise, also having a Tesla with FSD; but seeing that map is concerning. As a resident of WA state, it basically looks like Iā€™d be paying 200/year to get Bluecruise on I5 and a bit of a road out to the penisula. I was hoping a lot more of the local highways...
  4. Tonneau covers - Flip vs Roll vs Retrax

Posting another update. I emailed Gator to get a replacement bracket for the one that was broken and learned somethingā€¦ hilarious. After 2 days, Gator emails me back. ā€˜Contact Retrax.com for replacement partsā€™. I had a feeling these were just re-branded Retrax covers, but this confirms it...
  5. Tonneau covers - Flip vs Roll vs Retrax

I guess I should post an update. I ended up finding a Gator Recoil on Amazon warehouse that fit my truck for a bit under $600. It seemed to check all the boxes (not a heavy brick, doesnā€™t block the back window, doesnā€™t make me carry around another key) so I bought it. Put it on last night and...
  6. 3.0 lariat vs 3.5 lariat thoughts

7200 lbs trailer + family of 5 means you need every bit of payload possible. Option the truck to maximize that. I think that means a 157 WB 3.5EB with few options.
  7. Tonneau covers - Flip vs Roll vs Retrax

Ok, looking at options for tonneau covers for my truck. I live in Seattle, so both weather protection as well as some level of security is necessary. Ontop of that, something that I donā€™t see mentioned very often that Iā€™m thinking about is weight. Not looking to be a ā€˜ultra light weight...
  8. 6k lbs rule of thumb - still relevant?

Thinking about this a bit more, I wonder how much wheelbase affects the dynamics. I bet the difference between a 145 and 157 inch wheelbase is a big difference between whatā€™s comfortable and whatā€™s not.
  9. 6k lbs rule of thumb - still relevant?

Yeah, Iā€™m not a flat lander. Iā€™m located in Seattle so pretty much every camping trip involves going over a cascades mountain pass. Weā€™ve tow our current RV ~8k miles / year, all around Canda, WA, OR, CA, etc.
  10. 6k lbs rule of thumb - still relevant?

For many years the rule of thumb was to keep the loaded weight (GVWR) of an RV below 6k lbs for a 1/2 ton truck. I think I see this from people with 12th gen F-150ā€™s all the way up to current. iā€™m reading and watching videos from people recommending that trailers beyond 6k GVWR get a 3/4 ton...
  11. Have 27 ft., 6,600 lb. (dry weight) Camper, need truck--which one?

Mustanga10, Are you towing in flat areas? Iā€™ve found my Tacoma gets great reviews from people in flat areas, but where I Iā€™ve (Seattle), itā€™s a disaster. Just canā€™t tow my 3k trailer, even tho well rated. Iā€™m also looking at a 8k GVWR trailer and starting to wonder if my 3/15...
  12. Answers & Pics From F-150 Lightning Event & Product Experts

I hope Ford doesnā€™t underestimate the value of Teslaā€™s charging network. It might not affect them much for first time buyers of their EVā€™s, but I think frustration will build quick and Ford might see a sharp decline in repeat buyers. Charging a Tesla on the road is incredibly easy. It...
  13. Official 2022 F-150 Lightning Specs, Pricing, Photos & Videos!

I'll be the enthusiastic one here. I think it looks GREAT. I think the frunk is amazing. Looks like it'll have some type of ProPower, but through the trunk. We already own a Tesla with 300 mi range and we use the full battery once every couple months. I'm pretty sure we could live with a...
  14. Electric F-150 Lightning EV will be revealed livestream May 19

Good catch. The body line of the truck bed is different and the taillight is 100% different. I wonder if the Lightening is getting a completely different box in the back.
