My Dad was a Ford Guy. No interest in GM or Chrysler and forget about those foreign cars.
The photo is a 1955 Ford with the rocker panels already starting to rust out (Buffalo winters were rough)
I'm sure that he would be proud that I'm driving a Ford F-150 Lightning.
Ford being FIRST seems to be irrelevant!
I ordered my adapter for my 2022 Lightning on 2/29/24 and my estimated ship date slips month for month and is now September 2024. (It started at June 2024)
My son took delivery of a Rivian R1S six months after I got my Lightning. He was notified that as...
Agreed. It is a major mod requiring additional hardware. But I would like to know the cost, because using the Tesla Supercharger network without hogging two stations would have value for the life of the vehicle.
With a symmetric design feature, the F-150 Lightning has a passenger side cosmetic charge port door. Could Ford add a second charge port that would be compatible with the Tesla NACS Supercharger cable?
It's main competitor, the Chevy Silverado EV was able to locate it's charge-port on the...
Had my tailgate fail about two weeks ago. It wouldn't open. Thought it might be a common problem and an easy fix. But it turn out it wasn't and took six days for my dealer to troubleshoot and fix the problem. They found that the top tailgate open / release actuators binding internally and...
Don't feel bad, I did the same thing in Santa Monica. (Didn't know there were two until I got into the parking structure for the wrong one!)
Oddly the "old" Supercharger in Mammoth is better suited to connect to the Lightning, with its pull-thru station design. But it is not the right V3. So I...
Thanks for reporting this issue. I'm planning a trip this summer from San Diego to Lake Tahoe and was going to take route 395. I was planning on using the "reliable" Tesla Superchargers exclusively and charging at Mammoth Lakes. With the elevation change and the Topaz Lake Superchargers not...
I agree, that is not a good option. My frame of reference was coastal Southern California. Which happens to be a dense market for Tesla Superchargers because of the number of Teslas on the roads here. I'm not trying to be pessimistic, I'm reporting on the reality that I found.
I was really excited when Tesla and Ford announced that Ford EVs would soon be eligible to use Tesla Superchargers. At the end of February it became a reality when I was able to order my adapter from Ford.
I had previously owned a Tesla X and frequently roadtripped on Tesla’s reliable...
Thanks to Liv and Patrick of MachEVLOG some Ford owners were able to checkout a local V3 Supercharger. Tesla had made some mods to the stalls which made plugging-in much easier.
Repainted the lines of the stalls so that they now lined up with the centerline of the charger (effectively shifting...
Having an adapter is nice, but if the cable is not long enough to make the connection to the vehicle how are we going to use it. Does anyone have the specs on the V3 / V4 cable length on the Tesla charger? The videos i've seen about the magic dock and the lightning don't seem to have addressed...
Got the same letter from Ford. Called the dealer service and set-up an appointment for yesterday. (Two weeks out from setting up the appointment) When I showed up at the dealer service department yesterday they claimed Ford would not let them order the parts before I brought the vehicle in ...
Zach and Jessie are Tesla Fanboys that have decided to trash all non Tesla vehicles. Could they have been influenced by the 8 Tesla Roadsters that were rewarded by the Tesla referral program?
That being said, I do agree that the CCS DC fast charging network is a big problem. But hasn't Elon...
Regarding the first point of the Ford 1/7/22 letter to dealers - Additional Deposits or Payments for customers who are already on the reservation list:
If my designated dealer is asking for an additional deposit, does this potentially jeopardize my order ?
My current deposit is the $100...
