There are people who literally spend thousands converting lower trims to higher trims. Nowhere near the number that just do a few tweaks, but there are many. I was on an F-150 forum for 10 years, and it was shocking how much people paid to make say an XLT into a Lariat.
So your argument is that if I can turn on say 8 features from a Platinum in my Lariat, but I can't get the different metal trim and seats, that I don't have a Platinum and therefore Ford hasn't lost any money? Umm, ok.
You are incorrect.
Yes, some features are exactly as you state, features that aren't yet available or they don't plan on turning on for older vehicles. But others are features that exist in a higher trim, so in fact they are losing money.
On my 2013 F-150, I turned on remote start with key...
Don't know why you're responding to a 6 month old post, but your argument doesn't make any sense.
If I buy a Lariat, and turn on options that my truck doesn't have, but that are included in a Platinum, Ford makes no money. If I bought the Platinum with that feature, Ford got paid for it...
What is most disturbing about HIS is that Ford is not doing everything possible to get it working for everyone that bought it. That, or making people whole, should be their top priority. Clearly they promised a solution that is imperfect, and they aren't standing behind it for all customers...
Yeah, they've bought up everybody.
I bought my tonneau for the Lightning from DiamondBack. Superior quality to any of these brands, and still a small business.
Actually, it is between 78 and 82.

Imagine two scenarios:
You claim early and start receiving checks sooner. Each payment is smaller, but over time, the amount you receive grows.
You delay your benefits. Once you start claiming them, you'll receive a larger check, and that begins...
I posted the link because many collect too early, without understanding the impact of their decision.
In general, waiting until one's FRA (Full Retirement Age), 67 for people not yet at that age, is usually best. Then, the higher earner waiting until age 70 usually makes sense for a couple...

Wait, wut? Your Lightning doesn't precondition? It will SOON... 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

If you look in the manual (vs. Ford app), you will see some additional recommendations:
Brake fluid - every 3 years
Transmission fluid - 10 years or 150,000 miles
Coolant is not listed, it should be checked for proper strength and topped off.
No, the truck is not 7 tons, 14,000 pounds... The truck, empty, is just under 7,000 pounds. If you are jacking just one spot, a 2 ton jack is fine, but don't work under the truck without jack stands.

I've noticed between the Mach-E and Lightning forums a consistent fact - Lightning SOHs are considerably higher, or perfect, as compared to Mach-E SOHs. Is this because of:
1) Better battery technology on Lightnings as compared to Mach-Es?
2) Better BMS on Lightnings as compared to Mach-Es?
3)...
