  1. Other ways to control zone lighting?

Have you tried using the buttons by the lighting controls? These don't cover all the zones, but they work really well for what I need. The lower button turns on the running board lights and the bed lights, and the upper 2 buttons control the spot lights on the side view mirrors.
  2. Lightning Extreme Cold Weather Highway Performance?

Sounds like the issue in extreme cold is that Ford prioritizes keeping the battery pack warm at the expense of cabin warmth. If possible, you should precondition the battery before leaving by plugging it in and setting a departure time. That will bring up the battery temp using "shore power"...
  3. 6.14.0 Software Update Released

Actual release notes in a Ford software rollout. Finally!
  4. Priority Update-23-PU1129-CBC-ODP - Powertrain

@mattskr - That CSP is still showing in FordPass for me. @Maxx - My most recent update prior to this one was 6.8.0 about a week or two ago.
  5. Priority Update-23-PU1129-CBC-ODP - Powertrain

I also got this update pushed OTA to my truck this morning.
  6. New Features Coming? - per 2024 Lightning Owner's Manual (i.e. Walk Away Lock)

Nice! Glad to hear Ford has it working well on the Mach-E. The Rivian implementation has soured me a bit on it, but willing to give it a try if Ford rolls it out for our Lightnings. Just hope we get to keep the current lock/unlock method as a backup.
  7. New Features Coming? - per 2024 Lightning Owner's Manual (i.e. Walk Away Lock)

Ok, I'll be the odd one out... I actually prefer the Lightning's current implementation of locking and unlocking. I'd be happy to have walk away locking added, but would probably choose to keep the current setting. Our Rivian has walk away lock and it's a pain in the butt. It's slow to unlock -...
  8. EVgo-Ultium-FLYING J 'drive thru' 350kw 'SIMULTANEOUS' DC Fast Charger stations with Canopy

I love that they're deploying covered canopies for EV charging. It's definitely appreciated when there's a blazing sun overhead on a hot day or when there's a heavy downpour. But I'm little bit disappointed with the sheer number and placement of the bollards. I've seen so many people ding their...
  9. Unexpectedly low range

OP, as @TaxmanHog mentioned I think you'll get better results once you are able to use a Level 2 EVSE to precondition. It'll make a big difference in getting the battery warmed up prior to a long drive. That Level 1 charger is going to struggle to put any real heat into the battery pack in cold...
  10. Priority Update: 23-PU1103-NAT-VCE (re-release of 6.2.0)

@GDN, thank you! You explained it really well. Now I have a better understanding of the quirks behind Ford's software update process. Ford really needs to prioritize following good standards for software development (and UX/UI design) if they want to compete with Tesla and Rivian.
  11. Priority Update: 23-PU0813-DOR-UP2

I think I found out what this update does. - My PAAK stopped working. - User profiles were turned off, so it defaulted to having One Pedal drive OFF - I was surprised by the truck moving when I let off the brake. Nice work!
  12. Priority Update: 23-PU0813-DOR-UP2

I applied it this evening. As usual, Ford doesn't provide proper release notes that list all the changes made. So no idea what this does.
  13. Lightning Commuter 10,000 miles in 5 months.

Entertaining and informative write up! Thank you.
  14. Ford's Important Tip For Driving Your Lightning in the Cold: Preconditioning / Pre-Heat Your Battery

@TaxmanHog thanks for all the detailed tests! This is fantastic info to help us get optimal results during winter driving.
  15. Hit-n-Run

That does suck, sorry it happened to you. Hopefully that gets fixed quickly. I really wish Ford would make use of all the cameras on the Lightning and give us a Dash Cam and Sentry feature like Tesla and Rivian do.
  16. Stranded 2023 Lariat - unable to start vehicle

Bummer. That does seem pretty bricked. Sounds like you've already checked all the fuses and relays. Only other thing that comes to mind is to hook up an OBD reader and see if you can pull any error codes to show what might be going on.
  17. Stranded 2023 Lariat - unable to start vehicle

Did you try "starting" the truck thru the FordPass app? Maybe that would wake it up out of whatever state it's in.
  18. Trading in our 2022 Lariat ER for a Rivian R1S Dual Motor Max Pack

If you're thinking Conserve Mode, I haven't tried it when towing. Would guess that it might have some impact on the sway control since you've essentially disengaged the rear motors. I just got the Halloween update and they changed the drive mode options - now you can be in towing mode in some...
  19. Trading in our 2022 Lariat ER for a Rivian R1S Dual Motor Max Pack

@vandy1981 , looking forward to hearing how it goes with the R1S. I think you're going to enjoy the Rivian given that you're looking for something slightly smaller. The Rivian drives like a smaller vehicle than it is - the Lightning definitely drives like a big truck. But it all depends on...
