Unfortunately dealers are all over the place still with respect to ability, attitude, political opinion, etc.
You have a bad battery module, it's a simple fix, but takes diligent technical work to diagnose, get approved the repair, get the battery module ordered, and make the repair (takes...
Does anyone know about the rock chop sticker/vinyl type material that goes on bumpers, around fenders, leading edges of hood, etc. I've seen trucks with it installed (looks OEM) and it matches the paint perfectly. The only way I can see it matching so good is if it's sold by the OEM or sold an...
Curious about this as I was the first one to add passive entry to an XLT. Passive entry works differently on XLTs as it does on trims with PaaK. I suspect the handles may have BLE bluetooth antennas in them. This is in addition to the RFA in the console which is a module that PaaK trucks have...
That's another weird aspect of this, the truck was bought in TX b/c it's the closest one we could find him with MSRP pricing , but we live in OK. So, technically I think he can claim either, but they are both so similar I think it doesn't matter, they are both 31 days in service to qualify.
Yea, I still love my truck 100%, If I had a lemon, I'd play the statistics and just go get another one if I could get a BB. Even though mine was in the shop for 3 weeks getting a HV Batt Module in Nov and a few other times I didn't even ask for BB; my friends has had 2 replaced on different...
Yes, my bad, I thought you were quoting a failure rate as 8/100 is prob. close to what it really is.
Can you tell I'm passionate about this. Seem like every day I see a post from someone, "waiting on a HV battery module; It's been XX days, how can I request a BB." :(
Where in the world did you come up with 8/100,000?,, did you mean 8/100?
After both mine and my friend in little no-name Oklahoma both had HV battery module failures and bashed Ford on the internet we got pushback similar and from actual Ford representatives that it was 4%, but from what I was...
Most have had luck going through BBB or their state's DMV, It's not quote the level of an attorney, but it seems that Ford does respect them as arbitrators and won't push back with BS excuses for BB denial.
Update please, I've seen so many people being denied buybacks when their vehicle was at the dealer way over 30 days. Recently head that they don't count "days waiting on parts", or "days waiting on service" WTF does it matter what it's waiting on. I've also heard they only count "business...
Yes, this has happened to others and has been happening to mine for about 6mo. My dealer just replaced a HV module in my battery and diagnosed it while in service and said they want to replace the LDCM corresponding to whichever side was blinking on and off. They wanted me to pay for the part...
Reduced power is common for low battery charge and/or temp. It's reduced power due to a BECM DTC that is the issue here. I'd love for someone else to confirm that it used to reduce to 3%, then in some particular BECM firmware update they changed it to 25%.
This is partially true, people like me who like #'s and data would've been better about prying info out of the dealers and Ford if we didn't have these types of online platforms to vent/gather data. For instance the dealer my truck is at in Tulsa is one of the larger Ford dealers in the city...
Yea, this has been a fear of mine too, that Ford has programmed such scrutiny into self check algorithms of the BECM that long before the true end of life of the truck there will be a issue that causes reduced power and the only fix is module replacement. I can't speak to the technical details...
Yea, I'm pretty sure whatever they did firmware update or not just cleared the DTCs and then the truck seemed fine until it again detected the same problem.
I can't believe when I search "25%" I haven't seen anyone posting about this issue. A week ago today my truck had service now SES light/wrench on. I drove it straight to the dealer, got a Mach-E loaner and have been getting daily calls from my awesome service advisor telling me they were...
