Anybody use the Curt Echo brake controller?

I have one and towed with it a few times. My only complaint is I wish the app would use Android Auto so I can control it from the main screen instead of having my phone on the entire time.

It's been a while since I used mine -- but I think the unit has an accelerometer and triggers when brake lights come on -- it will activate the trailer brakes - no phone required. Check the manual and verify. It works this way just in case the bluetooth signal drops out.
