Is this true....?

Ford is having real trouble turning product out. They don't have the battery sources that even GM has. They need to step uo their game. When a company spins off a separate division for their ICE cars and EVs, it's a pretty good sign they're not committed to the technology.
Car companies that have announced the end of ICE development (VW, GM, Mercedes, Volvo) are committed to the success of the platform.
Of course, Ford has discontinued almost every car they sell in the US. Their sole business is selling land yachts and pick-up trucks. I can understand their commitment to the old ways.
Ford's international market is entirely different. Their cruiser sales only apply to the United States. No one else buys those boats.

I am not sure I follow the point you are trying to make. Ford is buying (and has expanded that buy) the batteries the need for the next few years. They are also building new battery plants and new factories for EVs to be operational by 2025.

Yes, Ford was a little late with the pivot, but I can't fault them for their speed and commitment once they started.
