Well after a few days at dealership, corroded wire under Frunk . Not covered by Ford over the 3/60km warranty ( Canada). Corrosion is not covered. A failed part but not corrosion. $500cnd to fix ( all labour and a few dollars for a wire kit)

This is my #1 long term concern from looking under the truck - not part failure but wiring issues. We have an F250 that now has had multiple wiring issues - we just now run new wires and forget trouble shooting. Test wire before testing the part, no power run a temp wire, it works, run new wire. I know Copper is expensive - and these trucks have miles - but some of these wires are near hair thickness ... add that to the connectors/harness being exposed in our Northern environment. Not unique to the Lightning, pretty much every new vehicle.

Well, I got my truck back today from the dealer and my cab now has heat again. The truck is 18 months old and accumulated 36,869 miles on the odometer. So it was 869 miles out of warranty. The dealer said the truck was out of warranty and I would have to pay $2,600.

I discovered that there was a safety Recall (23C32) for the Heater assembly but it only covered vehicles built up to August 30 2023. My truck was built September 2023. I contacted Ford directly and plead my case that the truck was just barely out of warranty, the truck had the same problem as the recall that it just missed by days, I didn't believe in coincidences, and the heater, though out of warranty, should last a long, long time.

Ford called me back a few days later and offered to pay 70 percent of the bill and I graciously accepted.

So, I'm disappointed I had the problem, I can no longer say the truck has been trouble free, but Ford stood by their product in my case.

FORD: Thank you for showing me some grace.

P.S. My goal was to drive 100,000 miles with my only expense being one set of tires. Bummer! My 22MME is at 60K miles and will get a new set of tires soon, so it is still on track. Stay tuned!
