Hello!
First time Ford owner and forum poster, looking to solve a few issues. Love the 21 XLT, using it as a work truck to haul around ~ 1000 lbs of tools, slip tank and diesel. Truck with an empty diesel tank runs about 50% of the time and rides around 600 lbs lighter.
What I don't love is the suspension in the truck...hard to beat the Bilstein ride in the last truck. The squirrelly body roll when hitting cornered bumps at speed is terrifying at times, I fear for the Alberta winter ahead....looking to leave suspension alone (until it's Billy time a few km down the road for better handling and possibly and extra inch up front) but am looking for some input on what others have seen out of their trucks so far. Keep in mind that I don't do excessive amounts towing, but will haul around a 420 lb Scrambler on the rear hitch carrier occasionally.
Leaning towards the standard duty Roadmaster Active Suspension, as long as the rear isn't raised too much. Haven't ruled out air bags just yet, but don't feel that I tow enough varied weight to require the adjustability. A Hellwig sway bar has also been considered, but they are insanely backordered and it definately won't solve any weight issues.
Anyone have any real world advice or experience in a similar situation?
