I can not find an off switch for the 400 watt inverter. On all the time would be a dumb thing for Ford to do. If there isn't one, I guess I will have to add one.

The plugs are live only while the truck is running. Much like your 12v power plugs, USB, and wireless charging (if you have that option). This behavior has been the standard since inverter sockets have been available. At least this is how my 2013 works. Not sure why you would want to change that, but hey, it's your truck. You can crank the socket up to 1.21 gigawatts if you want. ⚡⚡⚡

Thanks for the info. I just have never thought something should be running(in use)when it is not being used. Like a friend of mine that shuts off his desktop computer and lets the monitor stay on. makes no sense to me.

It's not running unless it is being used unless you mean the 2KW inverter
