I love Hunter Road Force balancer pretty much available at most discount tires and most bays have now been converted. I remember the days when only 1 or 2 machines were road force balancer. Factories / high end tire shops uses a similar road force balancer to try to get the tires down into the teens for the least amount of steering wheel vibrations / body / seat vibrations.

Make sure to use Road Force Balancing where you go and that should make a good difference in your driving experience.

Usually the best time I have seen to buy tires is around major holidays like our Federal Holidays. The next one coming up is Memorial Day and we should see some good sales / promotions which should stack.

Keep in mind install / lifetime balancing is around $25 per tire/wheel.

I would check the reviews on the forum for options other than stock tires especially if you're looking to get better range, better grip or off-road performance

The tires I personally like are Michelin, Pirelli, BFGoodRich, Toyo and GoodYear.

PSA: You can get Tire protection for your stock tires at Discount Tire as well. I did this for my 20" All Terrains when R1S compact spare was out of stock initially in 2023.

Ford F-150 Lightning Forum - Initial Review on Pirelli XTM AT

I swapped out the SL XTM AT with Toyo AT III EV SL to make sure I can safely inflate my vehicle to the minimum specs.

I would recommend waiting for the LT version of XTM AT which can handle more weight / pressure.

I chose the Toyo Open Country AT III EV tires because of the 116H rating / AT EV tires / Price.

I had to work with an associate at Discount Tire after ordering the tires to get them from a different store and have them shipped via Fedex next day at no charge. These SL tires are in low stock compared to the LT version

The 1-5 days shipping time was accurate for me. I did call my local store to make sure they can order it or get it from another warehouse / store.

Here is the initial pictures from the install.

Just driving 4 miles I got 1.92 mi per kWh. I would expect this to go up once I’ve driven 20+ miles instead of short trips.

I’ll drive more tonight and report back with proper efficiency numbers and once i get all tires to 50 lbs hot.

Took my car to Discount Tire for road force balancing and spoke to their lead technician about my concerns of high speed steering wheel shake around 60 mph - 80 mph along with vibration in the seat.

They did a solid job of getting the all terrain Toyo AT III EV tires balanced using Hunter road force balancer and used around half ounce weights - 1 oz and were able to get it down into the teens with 19 being the highest.

Makes a big difference not only in the wheel but also the seat. The back set were worse than the fronts from vibration standpoint.

Now it’s all buttoned up ready for a road-trip to Rivian Adventure Network.
