I don't think a damaged air dam is covered under warranty. I think it would be considered accidental damage and not something any car co would cover under warranty.
It helps, yours is the same as mine. It broke both actuators I am debating weather to fix it or not. One side tells me no, but since it is a new truck (900 miles now) I want to make it right. Just something I will have to decide.
Thanks, Charles
Robert from NW Ontario, thank you very much for that excellent explanation. Do you know if there is a way to test the dam operation other than buying a gopro camera? I would think that there is some way to activate the actuators without driving 50 mph. I hit a tire tread and it broke the dam and...
Thank you William. I do not see any wires or harness connected to the bracket or any motor or any way the dam can be moved. I do not see anything connected to the brackets, and they would have to move synchronized and there is no way to do that. Each side is independent of the other. It seems it...
I hit a tire tread (with my new Lightning) and busted the lower air dam off. It broke both the mounting panels (brackets) on both sides. They seem complicated with rollers but no connection, like a motor. How does that lower dam work? Do I need to replace the lower dam? I have no warnings so it...
Same thing with me. I had a 2023 Lightning and traded for a 2025. Mistake, but another story. With only 400 miles on my new Lightning I hit a retread. It busted the lower air dam and brackets. I drive a round trip 400 miles every weekend for 14 years and this is the first issue I have ever had...
I am not saying this will work but there is a frame member directly connected to the jack point frame member that you might be able to use. I am not a stress analysis engineer so it may not be a good idea considering all the rules about jacking up an electric vehicle. But I think I would try it...
That is ok but consider this. Many times you can get a deal on four tires, buy three get the fourth free, and you have to make two trips instead of one, and usually the four tires are near the life span anyway. Just replace all four at once and be done with it and save a day of your life.
I do not see how software could cause a shutdown. The current limit is set physically on the box. I tried to set it lower and I still had the problem so I set it back to 7 or80 amps and now it seems to work better. At least it does not stay yellow, somehow it goes back to charging. But a night...
I started this thread and there are many good suggestions. Here are my thoughts. If Ford made the charge station pro to operate at 80 amps, it should operate at 80 amps. Period. Next, each installation is different so I can understand some minor problems, but the charge pro should operate at 80...
