That’s an interesting response. I’m genuinely curious why you feel the way you do about Mercedes. You haven’t offered anything substantive so just curious what the actual reason is.
Totally agree. Bare minimum it should have been located on the passenger side. They could have gone the Porsche Taycan route and have a charge port on both sides, with the DCFC port located in the right side.
Wrong. I’ve maintained all of my out of warranty German cars for the last 20 years, they’re really not so bad. Sure, Mercedes is known for being overly complex at times, but domestically they also have ZERO competition in each segment. I’ll take a G63 over a Bronco Raptor ANY day. I’d also take...
Totally agree. I’m very surprised Ford hasn’t released a 3/4 ton EREV variant with the 131kWh battery. It would also help pad the margins that Ford is looking for from its EV segment. That said, even if Ford made it they would fail to execute from a marketing and sales perspective.
Certainly an interesting take. It’s interesting that I’ve yet to experience an American made vehicle that met or exceed the quality standards of German vehicles.
If you want cheap, you get what you pay for.
I do wonder if they were unable to get the generation needed out of such a small package. When towing what would a generator need to output to meaningfully extend range? 40kw? 60kw? 100kw? Just thinking of residential generators, I think the average 20kw wouldn’t fit in that form factor, let...
If only Ford actually made this solution…… That said, I’m not sure how many would have the equipment needed to load/unload this from the truck.

I’m confused why WiFi 6 is being mentioned if speeds are limited to 20Mbps? That’s like 1.6% of the standards speed that people see in the real world….
I think you’ve misread my comment. I’m simply stating what legacy automakers would need to do to compete with China. My point was they WONT do what is needed. The Auto lobby, UAW, dealers, and UAW will not allow it, ultimately to their doom.
Jim isn’t wrong. You have to ask yourself why China can produce such low cost vehicles. For Ford to compete, 1. They’d have to automate 90% of the manufacturing and assembly processes. That means thousands of auto workers will be let go. 2. The US government would need to subsidize Ford’s...
