same here. I'm 70 and have owned too many vehicles to count and this is by far the most fun to drive, and has beat my expectations handily. (Three of my past vehicles were Corvettes... '65,78,85 and Sparky would smoke all three.... easily)
I don't think anyone has figured out how many miles are used to estimate the GOM. However my own experience had me very skeptical of the GOM but now with over 15k miles I find it pretty good, particularly if you plug your destination into the NAV.
Even though you shouldn't need the tesla app, I'd have it ready just in case. One time I had trouble with Ford Pass working (kept getting a "charge station paused" message) but my butt was saved because I had set up a Tesla account and had the app on my phone. It worked as expected...
I'm perfectly happy with my FCSP. It was included with my Lariat so price wasn't an issue. But if I were having to pay for one now, there are several others that are probably a better value. I'm sure many posters to come will have recommendations.
