I saw something interesting….an electrician installed a second meter can on the premises side of the utility meter and mounted the Generlink on it. The utility has no say in what you can do on your side of the demarcation point. He cleared it with his local inspector first.
What happened is when you plugged in, the truck didn’t think it could reach the target in the charge window, so it started immediately. Then at some point, it realized it could do the remaining charge within the window, so it stopped and waited for the start time.
It does not throttle charging...
I use PAAK for my Mach-E and hide a fob in a Faraday bag inside the car just in case. I’ve never had to dig the fob out.
I don’t think it’s possible to do what you are asking.
That’s fine for a 24A EVSE. Higher power ones have thermal monitoring in the plugs and there is no standard protocol for such monitoring. If only it were that simple.
