This exact same scenario happened to me yesterday on my 2023 Lariat. I've only had it since May and this is the first issue I've had. It really shakes my confidence in the vehicle.

Thanks for all the advice. I may have been overthinking it but based on the comments I don't think I can do any real damage to the battery or reduce its lifespan significantly. I plan to charge to 100% the night before these trips and 80% the rest of the time.

I'm inclined to go for the extended warranty unless someone here can talk me out of it. I realize it's a personal decision but the key variable for me is how likely failures are to occur and I think on such a complex vehicle the probabilities are high.
