2023 Lightning ER dead at dealer for 6 weeks...

Just died. Stopped and "Stop Safely Now" message on dash.

Could not even get it to wake up to drive onto a flatbed.

First dealer, Lewis Ford in Hays Kansas refused to work on it because we had not purchased there.

Dealer in Hastings Nebraska has been good in terms of communication, but they are reporting delays from Ford right and left.

First they replaced the "main contactors" which I take it to me some sort of relay (this all filtered through my brother). Then the vehicle showed two damaged battery banks.

Apparently, they finally got the replacement battery parts (I doubt a whole battery), but didn't get some special heat sink paste, so another week.

My bother has been patient -- says the dealer sounds very reasonable. And he has other vehicles (now back to the 2009 Silverado) in the fleet. But this is leaving a sour taste in our mouths.

My bro managed to put 25k miles on the Lightning from 11/23 to 4/25. He's working the crap out of it, doing real farm activities. We took out extended warranty already before this happened. Prolly should check if the Ford extended warranty has some sort of "loaner vehicle clause". Hmmm...

So many reports. I know forums by nature filter for those, but what happened ain't cool, and it sounds like first dealer is one to avoid all together if at all possible

Will be following, wishing your brother the best one this.

Six weeks at the dealership is ridiculous. Six weeks without a loaner is doubly ridiculous.

Whatever they are saying to your brother might sound reasonable, but it's not. Anything other than, "we have made your truck a priority and it won't leave the bay until it's done," is BS.

All of us forum Lightning owners are waiting and watching for your response. Including the dealer who refused to work on a vehicle they did not sell.

What is the BEV team? Newby here.
Special team of customer service rep's who have more technical knowledge about Fords battery electric vehicle line.

Yes, you need to call the BEV team and tell them this same story and especially about the FORD dealer who would not service a FORD vehicle!!!
Sorry, not trying to tell you what to do by any stretch of the imagination, but that really makes me angry to put it nicely!
